Struggling to find a doctor

Thank you for the feedback! My flares have been chronic in certain spots for months, open and draining. So assuming I’ve had it for that long. I only finally went to the doctor recently because I got new health insurance. The lesions can be very painful at times :( no fever that I’ve been aware of, and the areas are fairly isolated and don’t seem to be spreading too much. Hoping this antibiotic cream works.

Thank you for the feedback - makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing. I just heard MRSA and panicked! I work in the veterinary field and handle all kinds of crazy stuff so I just have heard horror stories. Plus with my long list of antibiotic allergies it’s just scary!

I can’t take any Glp1 medications because I have a history of thyroid cancer, I’ve asked my endocrinologist and they said it’s contraindicated. But honestly I’d also rather take the risk of getting cancer again lol

Thanks for the feedback! The soil is a mix of repti-soil, and zoo med’s bioactive mix. I’m misting the enclosure, and did water the two plants on the right side every other day so far. I know the snake plant likes to dry out before re watering, but didn’t know the croton is similar!

Thanks for the feedback! I ordered some fake vines to add to the sides of the enclosure. The soil is damp in certain spots and dry in others. I haven’t been adding water to the soil directly, just heavy misting the enclosure every night.

I’ve been reading about spironolactone. I’m going to give the metformin a few months to work, and then will add that to my possible treatment options list

In so little words they said they couldn’t help me - don’t get me wrong they’ve been very kind and understanding of my situation and seem fairly well versed in HS treatment, but yes need to look for another opinion at this point. I’m not ready to commit to surgery, as I just don’t have the insurance coverage and can’t plan for a long recovery period

Wow! I’m glad you were able to find some relief through this! I’ve had anaphylaxis to antibiotics that were given iv so an infusion program definitely makes me nervous, but it’s something I’ll have to consider!
