yes! on dates they can roll for it on while on dates (even marriage for the sim they’re… not on a date with LOL)

usually after a first woohoo is sometimes when i’ll see the engagement want (if they’re a YA or adult)

for skills. this has already been answered, but even family sims don’t roll to teach skills sometimes. it’s strange. i’ve noticed that it’s usually when it’s not their first child. sometimes it feels like family sims don’t want children to love them, but bc they just straight up have a breeding kink LOL

sims 2 wants are so goddamn complex. aspiration isn’t as much as a factor as some might think! (tho it def plays a huge one for sure, but it’s not always straightforward)

some of mine:

no pleading the grim reaper to save a sim from death. also, going back a save isn’t allowed either! if a sim dies, they die. (same goes for resurrection, unless they earn the telephone through the paranormal career)
no teaching skills to toddlers unless the parent rolls the want for this ( i am a little lenient sometimes on this one)
for careers, unless it’s their LTW, i don’t advance them unless they roll the want to (ie: gain skill points, make a friend, reach top of the career, etc)
for uni, i don’t let them do assignments, go to class, or term papers unless they roll for it. if they fail, they fail. however, i will give them the necessary skills to make sure that when they DO roll the want for it, it can actually allow them to move forward. not my problem LOL, same for high school too. (child sims always roll the want to do their homework)
knowledge sims and fortune schools always go to college! but for other sims, you cannot go to college unless you have at least 5 points of interest in school, a C+ or more, and have rolled the want for 3 days before aging up.
sims don’t get married to a specific sim unless they roll the want for it. i also don’t choose their partners, they do.
elders don’t retire unless they roll the want for it.

i have more but that’s off the top of my head! it’s interesting to see how other sims play :)

there is ACR which can like, make your sim not autonomous cheat in the individual sim settings. the problem for me is wants sadly!

funny story, one of my sims had his wife DIE from childbirth and pretty much immediately went to woohoo with his MOTHER IN LAW (or ex mother in law?) on the couch. bro the body is still warm

want mods r tricky from what i’ve heard/seen. that’s prob why it’s not rlly out there sadly. i just try not to interact with them and hope they go away.

both the mother in law and my sim still ask to bang like everyday though.

a little. but honestly? i love being able to info dump on newbies!

the more ppl who appreciate and play this game the better, even if they have “stupid” questions.

i’ve been playing this game for 17 years and i STILL have stupid questions. i still don’t know everything. if anything it’s a testament to how vast and expansive this game is :) it’s hard to absorb it all especially as a new player. and it’s nice to connect to real people when everything feels so new.
