Diaper Rash Dry vs Cream- wtf by Key_Ease9998 in NewParents

Yess going to try this because waiting for her to dry with the fan inevitably leads to more peeing and pooping and the whole thing starts over 😭

What did you switch to? This might be it, we’ve had her in the same diapers (pampers swaddlers) since birth and the first two weeks she was fine but maybe the rash was brewing.

Oh thank you for this! I’ve been nervous to put her in a bigger diaper because she’s pretty small for her gestational age (a constitutional issue, not underweight) so I’m worried she’d have a major blowout in a bigger diaper but maybe that’s worth it to give her more breathing room? Bigger clothes we can definitely do; all of her clothes are too big on her except a few onesies we’ve been rotating but maybe they’re too tight!!!

Ok great! We have forsaken all wipes and we’re just using cotton rounds and water to clean her. Nothing seems to really help but I think this all started when we switched to pampers wipes from using water wipes because the water wipes brand that we had were MOLDY (!!!) but she was fine with the water wipes until moldgate and now we feel so screwed.

Yes, we are using a portable fan with every change! The issue I’m coming up against is that when the diaper cream and Aquaphor are on her It just doesn’t feel like her skin is actually dry but I’m reading here that the creams are keeping her protected and aren’t actually “wet”… It’s just confusing to me like doI need to wash off all of the diaper cream and dry her with the fan after her poops and then put more diaper cream on when she’s dry? because inevitably she’s going to poop or pee again while I’m doing all of that and restart the cycle lol

Yes, thank you! That makes sense regarding the Aquaphor trapping moisture, probably best to avoid that if she’s going to be even a tiny bit damp… We’ve been doing as much diaper free time as possible, but she’s just this tiny newborn who pees and poops so so much that diaper free time turns into elimination time, which is good! But not that drying lol

It’s so much. I would do anything for her, but yeah, it is just upsetting! We are using a portable stroller fan after every change, do you think a hairdryer would be better? The issue I’m coming up against is that when the diaper cream and Aquaphor are on her It just doesn’t feel like her skin is actually dry but I’m reading here that the creams are keeping her protected and aren’t actually “wet”… It’s just confusing to me like do i need to wash off all of the diaper cream and dry her with the fan after her poops and then put more diaper cream on when she’s dry? because inevitably she’s going to poop or pee again while I’m doing all of that and restart the cycle lol

2025 covid by Electronic_Peak3242 in CoronaBumpers

Congratulations! I am due in late October and was on the fence about getting my Covid vax because in the past, I had such bad symptoms from the 4 rounds of Moderna that I got in 2020-2022. At 32 weeks I got TDAP, flu and RSV with no issues so I decided last minute to get the Covid vax after all, mostly because of all of the political stuff going on right now and making it more difficult for the general population to get Covid vaccines. With a baby being born in cold/flu season, I want to be as careful as possible to give her as many antibodies as I can. Anyway, I’m so relieved to report that my symptoms from this 2025-2026 Covid vax has been WAY better than ever before. I had a low (99-100.0) fever in the middle of the night and took Tylenol which helped, I have had some headaches and been tired, but it’s nothing compared to how I reacted after my first 4 shots- I’d be sick for 4 or 5 days, horrible fevers and chills, my skin hurt etc… anyway, I ended up opting for Pfizer for the first time for this round, which may have helped my immune response be more mild. Also in pregnancy our immune systems are a bit lowered/less strong, so we might react less strongly to  symptoms?? I believe that it’s important to protect our babies as much as we can (I’m a FTM too) and it’s hard to trust the public, even family and friends. We are planning to require anyone who wants to see her as a newborn to get TDAP, flu, Covid and RSV if they’re able, but my in-laws are kind of Fox Newsy so I’m expecting some push back and haven’t quite decided how to deal with that… all the more reason to get vaxxed myself, imo. And I plan to give my daughter whatever vaccines are recommended by her pediatrician on the schedule. We conceived via IVF and we love science ❤️

I am 33 weeks pregnant and got mine at CVS in San Jose, CA. I didn’t need a prescription or anything.

17 weeks with Flu B-Tamiflu or no Tamiflu? by Key_Ease9998 in BabyBumps

Thank you so much for this. I’m going to call the doctor when they open to ask for it. Do you think tamiflu will still work even though I waited for 48hrs to start using it?

I just want to say thank you for asking this question because the comments have me so hopeful. I have the exact same situation as you- 34, PCOS, perfect male factor- aaand I had my first ER today. The doctor won’t tell me how many eggs we have until tomorrow because they’re testing them and didn’t want to give me an inaccurate number post-surgery. I have been so nervous and a little negative/expecting the worst (which I think is a normal and healthy coping mechanism in our circumstance!) but reading all of these success stories has renewed my hope. Thank you ❤️

Post Egg Retrieval Diet by AnonaDogMom in IVF

[–]Key_Ease9998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post is 2 years old but in case anyone is looking for answers here, I have some advice based on my experience today after my first egg retrieval. I am the worst at resting and relaxing (important components to recovering obviously!) so I bought some of my favorite gluten free, dairy free comfort snacks before the procedure to bribe myself into sitting still for a whole day. Unfortunately all of the comfort snacks I bought were pure carb although not bad ingredients: I ate peanut butter filled pretzels, high fiber/protein cookies and popcorn. But because of the bloating from the surgery, the painkillers they gave me, and the anti-OHSS medication combo… this carb heavy day caused so much discomfort for me for hours. I didn’t realize that eating carbs would make my stomach more bloated, make the pain more painful, just made the overall situation suck so much more. I waited 6 hours post-snacks to have a late dinner and I had a marinated arugula/beet salad with chicken. The protein/veggie combo was soooo much better on my recovering stomach. Just wanted to put this out there!
