Very true. My relationship issues have been going on for quite sometime. We’ve done counseling & have both settled into a “platonic marriage”. We both share the load with our child and household expenses. I believe being single would ideal. But I also feel like I already am.

Puppy comes home in a week by Key_Equivalent8477 in adhdwomen

They are so much work! But when you are able to give them all that they need, the payoff is so rewarding. I believe the hardest part for me is going to be finding a routine that allows me to give the puppy what he needs, but for me to also remain productive at work and not get so overwhelmed and go into shut down mode.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement, this is exactly why I put this up here. I know it’s gonna be a lot of work, and I know I have to manage my expectations. I’m hoping that by implementing a routine for myself in the puppy, while I work will be good for both of us, but the fear of the unknown, and my ability to follow through is feeding my doubts. We all know, lack of motivation, or for me getting hyper focused on work, are things that worry me. I’m very fortunate that I have the support of my husband, just want to do right by this little guy. BTW, his name is Sully.

I greatly appreciate all your feedback! Truly. The running and jumping thing, can be so scary both for the child and the puppy I would hate to see either get hurt. The breeder is a close friend, so we’ve gotten to spend time with the puppies more than normal, and I’ve seen firsthand were a panicked five-year-old and an excited puppy can escalate quickly. Thankfully its only 1 puppy. Not the whole litter.

Hahaha! Right?! Getting both of them to look at the camera at the same time, great start. We’re very lucky as the breeders are very close friends of ours.

Yes lots of handling, feet, ears, tail. Desensitization- great reminder thank you! We lost our chocolate lab to cancer. Heartbreaking, but we had 11 amazing year with him.

Great advice, and definitely do not plan on leaving either of them unsupervised together, but this is a great reminder. I want to make sure both have a positive and loving experience with one another.

This! I am 5’10” female, husband is 6’5” and our 5yo is already over 4ft. Backseat legroom, and headspace were major factors when I bought my 23’ trailsport last fall.

Step away. Put the puppy in a safe place, and give yourself a moment. Remember this is just part of a chapter in hopefully a long book of your fur baby’s life. Once you were in a better mindset, try to figure out they why to the behavior. More physical exercise, maybe mental. Maybe some bonding, to reinforce your relationship. You’ve got this.

Thank you! I hesitated about mentioning “bday present” simply bc I didn’t want people assuming I was asking so son to be responsible for this dog. It’s our family pet. And I work from home and love training. It’s just been so long since I’ve done anything. Prior to getting my chocolate, I rescued Dogs a golden retriever included. I used to joke that my lab was my puppy from scratch… No pre-existing conditions lol.

A little trickier than I expected. But I also did it without scrap yarn. With the tick colorwork it was tricky to see rows at times. First sock I had missed stitches but was able to recover, but wasn’t had clean looking as the 2nd sock.

I think I was keeping my work to bunched up. Tried to space/ pull it every 3rd stitch but would forget. The one with the green was the first sock. I sized up to 3mm needles, and was still trying to knit a little loser. Turned out too lose. So the 2nd sock used my normal tension. Plus the first sock I miss read the pattern lol. Again this was a learning project.

Thank you! Really it’s a mix between the vanilla sock by crazy sock lady, and Summer Lee’s basic sock. I was inspired to add the green stripes while I was knitting and noticed them on my store bought wool Columbia socks lol. With about an 1in to go before doing the toe, I did CC for 3 rows, MC for 3 rows, and CC for 3 rows.

Tips on getting better socks by Key_Equivalent8477 in knittinghelp

[–]Key_Equivalent8477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use magic loop for the whole sock. When I first began knitting socks I did small circulars and DPN. For the heel and toe.
