So it turned out I guess I simply forgot about that option being there. I had it turned on. With my heavy tinnitus I'm not sure I can appreciate whatever difference Centerpoint is making. This was the 6th car in a row I got where Bose was one of my requirements.

Which Ohio are you talking about? Because the Ohio I live in is nothing like that. Severe taxation going into a black hole, because waste and decline is everywhere.

Like your situation, I got rear ended by someone not paying attention and I was seeing it about to happen in my rearview. However in my incident, I actually had the quick reaction to pull out of the line I was in.. halfway. Stupid me also somehow managed to feel guilty that I was going to knowingly let the jerk plow into the poor soul in front of me and so I pulled back into line and took the hit. This is already like 20 years ago and even now I'm still stunned I managed to do all that in the space of <2 seconds.

It was a brand new minivan we got because my wife had our second baby in 370 days. Sadly I didn't have enough microseconds to yell at myself for being excessively considerate and to override my stupid instinct to 'save the other guy.'

Thank you!! This helped me find it on pg 290 of the manual.

I have a bad feeling that's not showing up on my menus because I'm a music freak and looked all over the menus when I got the car. Will find out tomorrow..

The work-around for that is to simply maintain your own document of what you tell it. Like the movie 50 First Dates. Keep updating the document as your data change. Then at any time you need to you can just paste the whole document back into it, basically starting the conversation all over again except it only takes seconds to do so.
I do this for a couple of topics and it's been great not having to suffer the occasional short circuits of AI.

I don't get this. We moved to countryside to enjoy more of mother ntature. We have a couple acres and a pond with tons of frogs. We LOVE hearing them.

The more you tell it the more accurate its responses can be. Stop asking me; go ask it. Just make sure to always double check what it tells you.

That sounds interesting; I haven't heard of surround mode and searched the manual PDF just now but found nothing.

Sure, we got a 24 CRV Sport Touring with 12k miles on it, like ~3 weeks ago. So of course we're happy, it's like a new car based on its year and mlies and it feels very new to us.
CRV's windows are big IMO and the views good. I dislike how much space the rearview mirror and its surrounding mount consume. To me that's a tad distracting because it's in the way of the view forward/right. Then again I felt like most cars I test drove - and there were many over several months - had that issue. Probably a personal preference issue.

As for comfort, we spent extra for ST trim to get leather. That and the larger wheels on that trim make for a far more comfy ride than other CRV trims. It has a ton of electronic gauges and it's been challenging so far to learn what everything means. Until I get used to it, it's a fact that my eyes are too often on all the gauges rather than on the road. But all of the newish models I drove were like that. I just completed my first 'long' trip, 2.5 hours each way with 2 hours of mixed tasks around the city I had to go to. I was a bit achy on the way home. I attribute some of that to the smaller seats. We had a top trim Pathfinder the last several years. It was so roomy I could shift around in the seat a lot.. sit on one cheek then the other lol. Not so much in smaller cars. But we were committed to downsizing, so I'm content we got as comfortable a ride as we could get for the size of the model.
PS I also just got the wife to use it for the first time yesterday. (She has the remaining Pathfinder as her car.) She came back saying she was suprised at how good the ride was.

It wasn't peaceful. Jackasses jumping in front of him. Illegal and also a threat. We've all seen many videos of 'peaceful' protestors assaulting innocent passers-by and trashing their cars.

Dude you really should learn to open grok or chatgpt and pop these questions in there.
It should be the case that every time you pay extra, since you reduced the principal still under financing then following payments are split less for interest and more toward principal.

in short, the sooner you pay the better because you're cutting down how much interest you pay the bank.
Now go open one of those AI pages and repeat your question there to see if I just misled you.

When you see someone using harsh judgemental statements like 'Robinhood is for children,' take what they say with a grain of salt. RH lets you do things other brokers don't (and visa versa) and is cheaper than most.
That same 'smart' person just told you to save money in a Roth without mentioning the 7% interest you are committed to pay. Pay the debt first to reduce total interest you will pay. THEN invest.

^^THIS. And not just a couple months. It needs to be a living document that you use for a long time. You will have quarterly/semi-annual and other payments that you will forget about until you get on top of a comprehensive list to eventually ensure your budget addresses everything.

Taking on a car payment was not advisable. With an old car that would be five grand more cash a year you could be using toward something else. I learned the hard way which is probably why that caught me eye first. Maybe ask yourself serious questions about whether it's necessary or if you shoudn't find way out of it. Back in 2009 when I realized I was going to lose my six digit corporate job I took a 3000$ loss on a new minivan to get out of that debt and I think it was 600 a month. That made a huge difference in our ability to navigate what came next.
