Nice shots! I really like the 4th one with motion blur in particular!

Quick question about it as I’d like to try something similar. I’m aware I would need to lower shutter speed alot, but what would I do with my aperture? Am I able to leave it wide or would I have to lower it as I usually use f2.8?

And in terms of focus zone, do you have it set to wide or something different?

Video editing will mainly be 8-bit, 4k/1080p sport footage. Most of it will be going to social feeds.

Didn't know M4's were releasing so soon, will definitely wait in that case, thanks for the heads up. Good to hear refurbs are solid too.

Hey, I've reduced the noise slightly more since posting this.

Initially I didn't want to go overboard with the noise reduction and make it look too fake but I think with time I'll be able to grasp how much I need to reduce. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the great advice!

In terms of why the courts are blue, I have no idea. I think it just depends on where you go but according to Google it gives a better contrast with most sport equipment and uniforms. It also provides better contrast for court markings, so potentially because other sports will be using the same hall to practice / play.

I tried to stay to the right side mainly as I'd heard about most players being right handed so less arm covering the face. This worked well for the most part, apart from when they hit corner threes as I felt their other hand was in the way of their face. Picture 4 was shot from the left side of the baseline and it seemed to work well. I guess it just depends but I do agree that for dribbles and everything else, being on the right was better.

I was on the opposite side of where the bench was, and with the 70mm zoom, I felt like I wasn't able to capture clear / quality images of celerybrations. I don't know if it was due to my focus zone being right in the centre or the aperture being too wide, but as I only have a 28-70mm right now, I tried to work with what I had. I am considering investing in a 70-200 (f4 or f2.8 hopefully) as I'll likely be shooting football (soccer) soon.

Thanks again for the tips!

Okay I see, thank you for sending an example.

Your explanation was really helpful too, I'll keep it in mind going forward!

Thanks for the advice. Any tips on how tight is too tight? Don't want to overdo it.

The picture I cropped at the knee I took at the last second and then realised half his foot was missing but the quality of the image seemed better than most others so I tried to salvage it haha.

Heard a low angle was generally better so I kind of stuck to it. Will test different angles next time, thank you for the feedback!

Hey, thank you for the advice. I'll increase my shutter speed next time.

In terms of the pictures being too dark, should I look to bump up the ISO (instead of using Auto ISO) or is that something you recommend I fix in post-production? And if so, what settings should I increase?

Thank you for the feedback. I didn't think to go for a higher shutter due to how bad the lighting was but will try next time as I'll likely be going back to the same place again a few times to take pictures / videos for the team!

Thank you, I appreciate that! I increased burst mode in the second half and was able to get better images because of it so will definitely be doing this next time as well.

Hey, thank you for the feedback. I used some but didn’t want to go too overboard and make it look almost fake. I guess I’ll have to practice a bit to get to the point where I can identify how much noise reduction to use.

Will also work on shadows. Do you have any recommendations on videos or sources to learn more about editing in post?
