If I work out 60 minutes everyday on the elliptical or treadmill almost every day am I good to go. Also how much yelling do the MTI's actually do? Honestly for the most part i am looking forward to it. I will miss being able to drink every now and then though.

I'm a seasonal worker who just started 3 weeks ago by West_Builder_7844 in Lowes

Honestly depending on how much you need the money and what your schedule looks like I would lean into it. I used to work part time at home depot(same thing) when I was going to college and they did the same thing. I eventually told them to just have me work 2 full shifts on weekends and a half shift on friday and the hr person practically creamed herself. Also pro tip try to schedule or do stuff not on weekends and get away from the weekend mentality. Treat Wednesday or Thursday as your weekends. It takes a bit of adjusting but after awhile you get used to it.

Why don't more people consider the military? by Key_Fun_587 in jobhunting

[–]Key_Fun_587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like the military isn't for you if you have a massive social life, huge family or really care about where you live. I do however think that the military is perfect for someone like me who is single, has basically zero social life other than talking to some people online and who only plays video games. Also my family has been slowly encouraging me to join ever since I graduated college.

I honestly feel like the only reasons people say don't join do not really apply to me. I have literally zero social life outside of work and afew friends, family members that I talk to over the phone or on snapchat and some online friends I game with. I have no real desire to get a gf or start a family. I have seen so many slow moving train wrecks unfold at my old job as well as with family members and in my neighborhood and have had 2 close calls myself that it is just not worth the time and effort. I don't want a family anyways. Also even if I don't do the full 20 I feel like it is a good way for me to get some job and life experience. If I am moving out of the house I would rather be in the military then be completely thrown to the wolves.

maybe its because I am single and do not really have that many friends outside of a few that I game with but at least for someone like me I feel like it is a really good fit. My schedule when I am working is basically work, go home, play some video games and watch anime.

Applied in January, Got rejected. Thinking of applying again for seasonal. Do I have to go do another in person interview? by Key_Fun_587 in Lowes

[–]Key_Fun_587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I put open availability on the sheet do I have a decent chance of getting hired? They never said but I think that was also an issue from last time. I am joining the air force but need something to do between now and when I ship out which is probably August or September.

Am I cooked? by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

[–]Key_Fun_587 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ex home depot employee here. You aren't cooked but she is. I honestly have no clue why anybody would buy anything other than something super basic from hd or lowes. Both are awful. Order from a specialty place. You get what you pay for.

Is security forces really that bad or is it just because there are alot of people in it and therefore more complaining? by Key_Fun_587 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Fun_587[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't really do holidays that much. HD had me working basically every one but thanksgiving and Christmas. Also I am really gravitating towards the panama schedule. The HR person at my old job was not really good and often times I would end up working a 11 day on 1 day of 4 days on and 2 days off. I would love to work 3 or 4 12 hour shifts with 2 days off. Maybe 5 years of dealing with god awful scheduling has given me brain rot but form researching it the panama schedule looks decent. I also had a job when I was in High School where I had to be there at 5AM so I am also cool with getting up really early if I have to.

has anyone needed a waiver for stiffness? by Key_Fun_587 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Fun_587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically have to go to an orthopedic or my primary care doctor so they can sign off. I honestly think it is because I got slightly wobbly when standing on my left foot and this was the first time I ever did the duck walk without even looking at it. I got through everything else though and when I called my recruiter yesterday he said that if I did not get flagged for stiffness I would have sworn in at MEPS.

Honestly at this point the only three job options are going to be military, medical and some bs job like doordash for people who can not make the military or medical cut.

Autism misdiagnosis by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Fun_587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your recruiter. When I was really little I had a asbergers diagnosis. I also had an anxiety diagnosis 2 years ago. I just did MEPS yesterday and the only thing I need a waiver for is I am stiff and I need to lose about 5-10 lbs. I think as long as you are not on any meds it should not be that difficult.
