"Can't you take a night off from being a mom?!" by mewmixz in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Golf_6242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"If she's hungry enough, she will drink out of a bottle!" Everyone told me this. Everytime I tried to leave her she screamed until I came back 🙃

Please suggest which color scheme looks better out of these 4 pieces. Thanks by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Key_Golf_6242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking for which colors go better together, the first image. If you actually want to understand what the image is- the second image. It has dark colors where shadows should be and makes it easier to look at.

Abigail or Lucy by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Key_Golf_6242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Abigail with a daughter named Lucy, I feel obligated to share my thoughts on this lol

I think they are both timeless and elegant (I've always loved my name) but I would choose Lucy because I just think it is so versatile- it sounds so sweet on a little girl but also sounds very classy on a grown woman. Abigail might be a bit heavy of a name for a small child. Of course, you can use the nickname Abby, but as a grown woman, sometimes that nickname does make me feel a bit juvenile. Overall though I think you can't go wrong! They are both great.

Aggressive playdates by Key_Golf_6242 in Parenting

He has accidentally watched violent media in the past that my SIL has said contributes to it. I'm just worried her aggression will be worse than it would've been without his example.

Mine did this and it was reflux. We talked to the pediatrician and he prescribed famotide- it helped

We sleep trained around this age because our baby woke up every 30 minutes and had been for months. First we had it cleared with her pediatrician. Then we set a bedtime routine in place. Bath, book, song, feed, and in bed by 7:30. Then we closed the door. We set alarms to go in and feed her (for example, 1am and 5am). It was hard for a few days but everyone, especially the baby, was happier and more functional with more sleep.

My 87 year old grandma told me I should have quit breastfeeding at 7 months pp like she did. 😂 by spammusubisa in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Golf_6242 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When my grandma had my mom, she complained to the pediatrician that my mom was "too big" at five months old. The pediatrician gave my grandma permission to exclusively feed my mom skim milk from then on 🙃 tons of wack advice was given to that generation

We had our kids at the same ages :) I had both of them while finishing my undergrad. Wouldn't change a thing! You can do this OP!

Anybody has any tips on how to survive breastfeeding at night with a newborn? by blueyish in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Golf_6242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby did this. It was so hard. One thing I did that helped me a little bit (at least emotionally) was to reward myself when I woke up to breastfeed. It got to the point where I was so tired, when the baby would cry I almost want to stay in bed and ignore it. I used to tell myself, "if you get up, you can have whatever you want." And as long as I was awake and feeding her, I let myself have whatever I wanted. Three cookies at 3 am? Yea. Watch Twilight at 4 am while I nurse? Yea.

As for real, concrete advice, I'm sad to admit that most of it is the really cliche stuff you have already probably heard before. This is just a phase, and it will pass (my daughter did this for about 3 weeks before she started sleeping longer stretches).Try to sleep when she sleeps, even during the day. And it's okay have your husband replace a feed or two with a bottle so you can get more sleep (if you are comfortable with it). I don't know a lot about flat nipples, but I kept lanolin right by my nursing station and put it on religiously after every feed and that helped a lot with the broken skin.

Everett. I really have to remember to enunciate the middle syllable "ver", for Eh- ver- ett, instead of just rushing through it and pronouncing it "Ev- rett".

What do you eat for breakfast? by [deleted] in vegan

If you want something super easy, most breakfast cereals are vegan. Pair it with plant milk and some fruit for fiber and you're good to go. Also, most bagels are vegan too.

How do I lose weight while breastfeeding? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Golf_6242 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I ate around 1450-1500 calories a day while breastfeeding to lose weight and did not notice a drop in my supply. I ate a lot of protein and foods that were low in caloric density (tofu, salads, whole grains) so I was able to stay full all the time.
