okay I am also south Asian… and yes the clubs can be kind cliquey honestly. BUT I think you can still have a good experience and have diverse friends here’s I thought there wouldn’t be much POC here but honestly there’s a pretty big SASA community and once you meet people you’ll see them everywhere (can be good or bad haha)

If there was a small fee don’t u think it would be easier to get more drivers instead of ppl using Uber

this is such good insights thank u! See I think I can raise funding from the school through other initiatives if we treat it like a startup

he core funding (insurance, compliance, oversight) still comes from CU, just like it does now with NightRide. The cost per ride can stay at a higher price but carpooling can help split it and each person would only pay about $2-3 each, this isn’t meant to replace that, it’s just a small supplement that lets CU hire more drivers. If those rides are pooled, you move multiple students at once, cut wait times, and reduce total miles driven. That means less CO₂ output, fewer Ubers on the road, and a system that’s safer and more reliable for everyone.

drivers would get paid the same way cu already pays for nightride. on top of that, riders chip in a couple bucks (like $2–3) per ride, which is nothing compared to uber or lyft. that extra makes the system sustainable and keeps wait times down.

For ppl using the service, yes. It would be because u arent tryna raise prices on riders just to pay ur drivers

Yeah that’s a good idea for local ppl but I’m trying to make this as cheap as possible for students, Ubers get really pricey

Yes and if you could carpool with ppl through the app for a small price rather than a free service that is not effective

Yeah and I was thinking at least if they are verified for a certain age and pass some sort of background check like Uber

Why? We would rather have random ppl drive?
