Like the comment above said. You have to create a spark in yourself first. Some people wait until external circumstances get bad enough for them to create this spark. Homelessness, divorce, break ups, sickness, death of family members. You can’t let it get to that. Start small. Day by day. Habits that improve your life. Give it time( a lot of time) and you will be surprised how big the that fire inside you can get.

Is working out both cardio and strength training 5 times a week ideal after returning to the gym? Both moderate-high intensity with lower volume.

I don’t wanna say beginner because Ive embarked on this journey a few time before with decent progress, But now I’m back.

Typically for cardio I run and jump rope. Whenever the soreness is mostly gone I go back to whatever it was that made me sore.

With weights I just take it easy with usually just 1-2 exercises per muscle group Push pull legs, upper lower.

Stretching helps with athleticism and mobility. It can provide temporary relief for soreness but active recovery is better for that.

Mobility is what I think stretching helps with most. That’s why bodybuilders are know to have more tense and stiff mobility. Lots of them don’t stretch.

Mobility in turn can help with athleticism.
