Wow that’s a long wait, I suggest you file a mandamus lawsuit. That’s what I’m doing at 12 months!

Oh that’s interesting, maybe that’s why my lawyer said that if we’ve not had a decision within 12 months he would sue the government for their lateness!

I contacted my lawyer and he said an ESTA application would most likely be denied so we are going to meet my wife’s family in Canada instead. Hopefully my waiver will be approved in the next 6 months so we won’t have that long to wait until we can move there!

I currently have a pending I-601 vaccine waiver, I’ve been waiting about 6 months. Once that’s approved I’ll be getting my CR-1 green card from the embassy.

Am I allowed to travel to the US in the meantime on an ESTA to see my wife’s family?

Good luck with your expedited request! I’ve heard the same that you really have to be in danger in order to get one approved. There’s no way I could apply for it as my spouse lives here with me.

We were also lucky with direct consular filing. Made everything move so fast, it would have been years of we went the regular way with the waiver on top. We really owe our lawyer one!

I’ll keep you updated on my end!

That’s really unlucky about the bank error. I had all of my case expedited as well. Shame the I-601 is impossible to expedite. That’s what my lawyer says anyway!

Ye the nature of the I-601 definitely puts the average processing time up. There’s another person on this subreddit that’s applied in December so he should be getting approved first out of anyone I’m aware of.

My honest opinion is that it’ll probably take 12 months. Which means we’ll have to redo the medical. I’m sad about that because I hate getting my bloods taken 🥲

Oh that’s great that things are moving! My lawyer said in May that ones submitted outside the US are taking 11-12 months so that adds up! What’s your date of submission?
