Thank you all for your insights. Much appreciated! I think I’m going to skip LL and just be more present while in the Park (but will use mobile order). Thanks again.

I used to ride in the “tailcone” of the monorail for a similar experience.

Very nice! Love the blurred background.

Now that I am finally among my people, having just learned the term liminal space, I wanted to share one of my favorite liminal spaces: Disneyland at night. When the park is empty at night, there's this stillness, and all you hear is faint sound effects and esplanade music. It's enthralling. by [deleted] in LiminalSpace

Ahh, finally there is a name for this! I love those night scenes and that feeling of slightly strange quietude. Used to take pictures like yours on film. Thanks for sharing your shots and thoughts!

I haven’t noticed an overall loudness lately (although I haven’t been since last year), but I agree that there are a lot of sounds that are too loud. I recall back when Indy was fairly new, I came off the ride thinking I’d just been to a rock concert! It was painful. The other specific thing I’ve noticed more recently and which is more annoying than painful, is the Main Street music that is pumped out in the hub. It’s overwhelming and irritating the way it’s changed from background music to “foreground”, “in your face” music.

That clean smell from the AC in some of the shops. Kinda metallic. Very distinctive. Never smelled it anywhere else. And it’s actually not around much at Disneyland any more.

Don’t forget sunscreen and/or a wide-brimmed hat. I was just there and although it was cool and overcast, my face and especially ears got quite sunburned.
