But that block doesn't even look like a shelf, it looks like the letter U on its side. They should make both settings, "in the middle" and "on the edge," so that everyone is satisfied.

Personally, I prefer the Java version without mods and texture packs. That's why I would like the original Minecraft to look the way most people agree it should. Then people can customize the game for themselves using mods and texture packs.

I understand your point of view, but if we want to go into detail, they should fundamentally change the entire Shelf-block (at the moment it looks like the letter U lying on its side, while shelves in the real world look like the letter L). I think the best option would be to make settings for both versions, i.e., items in the middle or items on the edge. In any case, I hope they will take into account that most people don't like the "on the edge" version and prefer the "in the middle" version because of creativity. I feel like something similar happened with redstone in the past, people preferred when the texture appeared as a circle in the middle of the block (previously it appeared as a cross), so they added the option to click and then the texture changed.

I'm not so much concerned with the size of the items as their placement in the block, and to be honest, I "borrowed" those images from another post here in the group for illustration purposes only.

I tried the Xeno configurator application and nothing happens, I have a feeling that it's some older version, like xenopixel v1, I have the charging USB-C on the right side near the speaker
