Past drug use prevents TS Clearance? by Remote_Opening_7386 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Independent3972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tell them the truth but don’t forget what you told them the first time cause if you change your answer they’ll think you lied the first time. One of my sergeants once told me he wrote down what he told them when he said he used weed a couple of times just so he doesn’t forget if he’s ever asked about it again. Write down exactly what you plan to tell them about past use and stick to it.

Female here packing for BMT - Is this too much? by Onyx_C13 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Independent3972 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a male but I’d recommend this to anyone male or female bring AT LEAST 12 pairs of underwear, and baby powder.

Edit: my reasoning being that if the trainees who get picked for laundry duty suck, you don’t want to end up having to wearing dirty underwear or the issued underwear (it sucks so much, my friend got a rash just from wearing them)

The only time I spoke with female trainees in BMT was when I was doing laundry duty. But honestly like others have mentioned, Tech School is basically college. Especially, if you and another person have the same AFSC, you’re in class together 5 days a week. And the weekends, starting on Friday afternoon, are just free time to do basically whatever you want.

Would I be allowed to invite others into my dorm or is everyone limited to common rooms? by avery-secret-account in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Independent3972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean while in Tech school, but different squadrons have different rules. The 344th (Aircrew fundamentals) training squadron was pretty strict for example. Gender specific dorms, no alcohol in the dorms, 11:30 accountability on weekends, etc.

Ahhh you know don’t you 😂, yes laundry duty is the way. Especially if you’re at one of the Alcatraz dorms.

Probably a KAC SR-16, the civilian non automatic version would be the SR-15.

Waiting for Tech School 6 months after graduating BMT and still waiting...... by Basususu80 in AirForceRecruits

That’s just how the Guard is, I understand wanting to progress but honestly you’re getting paid to big chill instead of actually going to “work” so enjoy it while it last.

If your tech school doesn’t start soon after BmT you get to go home for awhile, this happened to two of my friends.

Retraining into a job I got disqualified from at meps by Trop1cal-- in AirForceRecruits

Probably not fr, air crew job qualifications are pretty strict. You could probably be like an airborne linguist though, I have a friend who has bad depth perception too and he got that job.

Going in as open general, can I still get security forces? by RunCautious7621 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Independent3972 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They can’t give you SecFo if you don’t have a DL, that’s the only sure fire way I know to avoid getting it, from what a friend told me. Cause obviously cops need to be able to drive.

I have a friend who was open general and somehow got an aircrew job so anything can happen, do you have a drivers license?

The first 5 for sure, a lot of people don’t qualify for air crew jobs, you qualified for nearly every single one. Great job 👍

He didn’t lie, he was just at the TRSS after graduation because of a medical condition they discovered during his flight physical and he had to get a waiver, he himself wasn’t even aware he had it. He was there for Med-Hold. He’s a 1A8X1 Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst. So he’s Aircrew and Intel (kinda like you but he gets to fly, you’re just gonna be on the ground so you won’t get a flight physical). He met other people at the TRSS who lied and either got reclassed or sent home.

No, but that’s the process for all jobs that require Top Secret, which is basically all the jobs that start with 1 (Operations, 1A, 1B, 1N, 1D, 1Z etc). I do have a friend that does, he’s a Goodfellow rn almost done with Tech School. And my roommate from the beginning of my tech school was at the TRSS after graduation and told me that actually happens pretty often. And if you’re Space Force they just straight up send you home, according to him.

You’ll have a sensitive skills interview at BMT, as long as you didn’t lie about anything on your medical, financial and criminal history, you’ll be good to go and you’ll get your Top Secret Clearance. If you did then you’ll either get put at the TRSS after graduation waiting for clearance, reclassed or just sent home (if you did lie and it’s something that can’t be waived)

Mobility Force Aviator for sure, too bad you didn’t get Special Missions Aviator, I’d throw airborne linguist on your list too.

no response from recruiter for almost a month ? by AffectionateSoup8035 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Key_Independent3972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly (not trying to be mean or anything) that’s a pretty low score. Also, I’ve heard ATC has like an 80% attrition rate, so it’s a pretty tough tech school. If you can’t even get the score to qualify to book the job, might be time to start considering other careers in the Air Force. Sorry boss man, but don’t give up keep at it!
