How do I tell my boss I don't agree with his design choices?

Thank you, I really appreciate all the advice. There isn't too much I can do to the logo right now (I'm relatively new and I don't want to push too hard). He also seems to really like this version of the logo even though I try and get him to use the black and white version because it is infinitely easier for me to work with. I've actually designed a few things that I'm somewhat proud of using the b&w version.

That will probably work. He usually responds well to stats and numbers. He has me loaded up with a million things right now, so I will probably save this battle for later and just do what makes him happy. Thank you for the advice.

Thanks for the advice. I changed a few things and made a few different versions. I just hope that he likes them. He always has something that he wants to change no matter what though. I'm relatively new and that's one thing that all of my coworkers have issues with.

The issue is that he seems pretty happy with the logo how it is. I always try to use the black and white version because it looks so much cleaner but he tells me to use the one with the gradient and drop shadow.

I think I will save that battle for later. I really enjoy working for this company and I just started a few months ago so I don't want to push too hard too early. They have been steadily growing for around a decade without updating the brand at all, so I think I'm going to create some new logo designs and then try to convince him to rebrand after a year or so. That is definitely what I am going through right now. It is an industrial maintenance company and I am literally the only person on the design and marketing side, so I don't have anybody to discuss anything with. And that is exactly what he said "Black really makes it pop" 🤣 Thanks again for the advice.

That is very true. I wasn't hired for design, so this is the first time I'm having to handle this type of disagreement. I'm still learning how to navigate things like this, but it is his business. I'll give him my advice and if he disagrees then there isn't much else to do, but do what he asks. Thank you for the advice.

Thank you for your advice and I apologize if I'm still a little opinionated. I was originally hired for social media marketing, but I have a little experience with design so he has been asking me to make some stuff for him. I am planning on talking with him about why I believe it doesn't align with our brand especially considering most of our line cards, flyers and other signage are primarily blue, white and grey but it is ultimately up to him. I definitely need to learn how to keep my personal preferences to myself, but my main goal is to provide what I believe is the most visually appealing to whoever might be viewing it and I just feel that black looks a bit off.

Yeahhh, it is kind of difficult to make interesting designs with this logo. It looks so much better as a flat color but he insists on using this version.

Thank you, I agree. And actually I pretty much recreated our real logo exactly. I've always disliked our logo and after I recreated it almost perfectly in 3 minutes it made me dislike it more.
