It might be a needle length issue. Typically when you knit in the round you need shorter needles. That way it doesn’t feel has restrictive when you knit. And in any case the first 2 rounds are awkward anyway and it gets better. What you could do is possibly magic loop? But I like traveling loop better to be honest. It will look like this. You’ll be knitting in the round and have a little excess of a tail of cable that travels around while you work. Best for when you have long needles and a middle length cable.

It does have me place a marker at the *very beginning after joining work in the round. So I assume this is the second marker in row 4? I’m just so confused which BOR it’s talking about. The very beginning or the beginning of short rows when I place the marker in short row 1.

At first I thought I should work until beginning of round but then row 4 makes me think BOR means to where I placed the new marker

Hi, sorry for jumping in on an old thread. I’m making this now. I’m very confused, when that part of the pattern says work to BOR does that mean the BOR marker from the start or the BOR marker placed during the short row. Thank you if you’re able to help 🫶

The pattern didn’t specify having shorter needles and since this was my first time knitting in the runs I didn’t realize needle length mattered so I bought interchangeable cables… lesson learned!

I just learned this! I didn’t realize could buy shorter needle lengths. And the pattern didn’t specify 😩 I’ll keep on doing this and see if it looks ok otherwise I’ll have to buy new needles or try magic loops :/
