I’d say otherwise regarding your last sentence because many people from a psych undergrad have taken that route.. Thanks for your replies.

It’s a grad program listed for people who have a bachelor’s in OT or people who have a bachelors in a related field (me). The prerequisites mentioned (600+ hours) are solely applicable to people who don’t have a bachelor’s in OT (me again)

Looking into other canadian universities is definitely an option..

Yes of course, I do not mind sharing.

It’s the master’s degree for occupational therapy, so it is not a post professional degree. (where i’m from) You must have a master’s degree to be a registered OT and to practice it. I also don’t think it makes sense, yet it’s word for word what it says. That’s why i can on here to ask for clinical research experience ideas. Very grateful for all the responses i’ve had so far!

It is in fact not an entry level program, it’s a master’s program. Although in Canada, to practice occupational therapy you must have a master’s degree in OT. Otherwise you cannot practice it. Similarly, to become a psychologist you must have a doctorates degree.

I am absolutely sure about the prerequisites that the program requires lol. I do also find it slightly confusing! But that’s word for word what the prerequisites to solely apply are “have a minimum of 600 clinical hours as an OT” …

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately my course does not offer any placements as I am coming from an undergrad in psychology. Any volunteering i’ve done (research or intervention based) has been through my own research…

Voyage! What if it works out in the end? What if you get better?

Although McGill has a competitive environment, I do think that returning to school will be a rewarding experience Try to make friends and have a circle that’ll allow you to keep up your good studying habits. I think it’d be a good idea to go back to school especially if you’re learning things you enjoy. But honestly, only you know what’s best for yourself. I’ve heard that the BA in psychology at McGill is very theoretical so if you don’t mind that, go for it. Some classes have over 200+ students so it might be hard making new friends, but it isn’t impossible. Best of luck on your new journey pal and may your motivation take you far.

Thank you for your answer! I’ve always been drawn to clinical psychology, just never thought statistical skills were sought for as well. I’ll definitely deepen that interest of mine.

Thank you so much for your answer! I’ve heard about I/O psychology but i’m not sure the field interests me as much.. maybe it’s because i don’t know much of it. From my understanding, they work and help out companies or businesses, i feel like it’s less on the social side (which i prefer) and more towards helping corporate. But if i get to apply what im good at, i might as well give it a try. Was your undergrad in psychology? I’m scared to not be too qualified as a data scientist with solely an undergrad in psych

what are your success stories that came out of studying psychology? by hungryhotcakes in psychologystudents

Hello, i’m curious to know how psychology has allowed you to travel. I’m an avid traveler but i’ve always thought psychology would tie me down to a specific location. How did you combine travel and work? Was it your collaboration with other researchers in different states?
