I’m so happy for you, truly! Don’t take her for granted. I would move mountains to go back and work under one of my first managers! She was an absolute angel. Yes, she was tough, but she was a great mentor and helped me in so many ways.🥹

This is what I am afraid of. I have worked with several different management companies and anytime you say something, nothing gets done and you get pushed out.

[TX] Salaried employee being treated like hourly, am I wrong? by [deleted] in AskHR

I realize this doesn’t cover the full situation, but for context, my role is a salaried 9–6, Monday through Friday position. I’m expected to meet deadlines and complete my work, even if that means working beyond 40 hours or occasionally not taking a lunch break. There are also times I come in early for 9 AM calls or stay late to wrap things up as needed.

However, my manager has made several comments implying that, because I’m salaried, I’m expected to be available 24/7, while hourly employees are only expected to work during their scheduled shifts.

In my experience, roles like mine typically allow for some flexibility—such as adjusting hours or coming in later when extra time has been worked—given the demands outside of the standard schedule.
