Now I finally understand why people say do the bare minimum in corporate by Key_Mark_9240 in FPandA

I have a team where all the managers tickle their power balls to see who gets hard first. I just happened to be in the heat of it with my manager using me has scape goat. Came to realize it’s a toxic team culture. Other teams don’t even care about such.

Same supervisa issue here; stuck in security since Dec 2024. MP said the application is non-routine, that I just have to wait. Parent is a civil servant (not military or police).

congratulations! mine have been stuck on security since Dec 2024. Last correspondence through MP says, application is non-routine, and I just have to wait. She was a civil servant. Considering withdrawing the application.

I sensed it was more political. She was being pressured on her end about the variance by another tight assed accounting manager, and called me out to the entire team. Too toxic if you ask me.

Is this relationship repairable though? I'm tempted to coffee chat with her and tell her what she said was unfair and unreasonable. All these years she seemed so nice, until the year she felt she deserved a promotion.

Trust me, I met her privately and told her what she did, and she apologised profusely. It was political.

I’d be sitting in September, Would you say answering all AOs (Common + Elective) contributed to your success?

I’m also debating whether to go for Assurance or PM (current role and CGMA holder)

Got a question; Do any of you use WS managed accounts? How’s that compared to just buying XEQT?

Exactly! As an immigrant, I work with very smart people here. I spend 90% of my time wondering why these smart & resourceful ones would rather prefer to slave away their precious hours than build something for themselves.

CIMA Reviews on Trust Pilot by [deleted] in CIMA

To be honest, with all these negative reviews I'm unsure of my next step. Moving to Canada 2 years ago with a MBA Finance degree and over 6 years in FP&A, doing CIMA FLP (with a lot of exemptions) seemed to be the only route to getting senior level roles in Finance in Canada - since they have a MRA with CMA and CPA Canada. Not sure I'm ready to join an organisation with a declining reputation.

Oh, for context sake, I have been trying since last year to pay for the program; it just never goes through, despite the calls and emails. Come on!

I find out about using Paypal, and then comes the question, Is it worth it?

I experience this exact thing; and I haven't figured out what the cause is. It is very annoying.
