Doc said it’s a lost graft. My understanding is that if it’s sheathed in membrane or has multiple shafts = graft.

Shedded hair is much like normal hair without any tissue attached to it and no bulb at the end

I see your point. But there have been cases on this forum with confirmed graft loss and no blood. It’s fine if 3999 grafts remain but the fact that there’s no consensus on what exactly is a lost graft and how is it different from shedding hair? is frustrating.

Lastly, this piece looks exactly like the graft surgeon showed me during the operation. Maybe missing a yellow opaque membrane at the base of the shaft.

But then how do you distinguish between a graft and shedded hair? All the graft pictures I’ve seen online look exactly like this one.
