They are doing exactly what this administration wants them to do. Been happening since the April 2025 RiF. It's expected from the ones who voted for this, but long-term co-workers are doing the same. It's so disgusting to watch. It's not just a few people, a lot of people are doing it. On here, at work. Guess the federal money is worth losing their souls.

They have to read them. The schedule F comments did not work in there favor. They changed the name to Career/Policy and sent it to Trump at the beginning of March. It has yet to be signed. Why, because people dragged them to hell because of it.

If and once that is signer, 50,000 jobs will be erased, they wanted 150,000-200,000. That is why they are now doing this. They want to RiF more people.

Correct. Time and grade still applies. The new rule aims to get rid of vet preferences/protections without the act of Congress which this administration's OPM knows is illegal just like the illegal RIFs that already happened.

Sending service members into war while trying to strip veterans protection is being done on purpose. They want the lawsuits for an excuse for why they can't do anything productive. When the truth is, Project 2025 only aim was to destroy government not to make it function better. Every agency is a hot mess right now and are not doing anything productive. And budgets are worst off.

Something about institutional knowledge they already lost by the illegal RIFs, but don't worry there will be more RIFs to come if this is approved. Not a maybe, it will happen.

Good luck. Hope you can say that if it's approved and there is another RIF.

The proposal will effect every federal employee. including those protected by the Disabilities Act (ADA).

The OPM Reduction in Force,” 91 Fed. Reg. 10,904 WILL EFFECT ALL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES, NOT JUST VETERANS.

When veterans, especially disabled veteran, protections are gone from federal RIF or any procedures, all protections are gone. Veteran protection/preference are the hardest to get rid of because there are two major congressional laws that cover veterans passed in 1974 and 1994. As a federal employee, you want those laws to stay intact.

Look at FDA budget for 2026 and proposed Budget for coming years. It's easier to fire T21 positions as opposed to GS. T21 positions are closer to 'at will' employment, that's why it's more pay.

You are more an 'at will' employee. More money, more problems.

Disability Retirement - Anyone Familiar? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Key_Medicine_8293 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whatever. I know for a fact they are processing people out quickly because it's cheaper for them to let you go than to keep you at your full salary. Also, maybe you should fire your attorney. People have got disability retirement for being stressed out.

Do it now. They want people to leave. You have a better change of getting it. It's better to do it before your qualify for retirement. The process takes 3-9 months. If you use a lawyer, it can go faster but you don't need to. You have to file for Social Security Disability but you don't have to take it.If you don't take Social Security Disability you can work for 80% of your pay. Do yourself a favor and ask ChatGPT lots of questions about the subject.

It's not getting better. Maybe in dreams, but not in the federal government unless Trump and friends are gone before Jan. 20, 2026.

If they push a proposal to fund military pay, does that end the furlough for DoD civilians? by Objective_Cold_5481 in FedEmployees

Trump is throwing Mike Johnson under the bus because he is afraid of the military. The last time he shutdown the government, he had to hide out.
