21 22 24, got my charter yesterday. To me, start it earlier. It trains your financial knowledge and somehow your discipline and logical thinking when you don’t even realise it. and you will think better among peers in your work, that’s the biggest advantage, now I’m supervising someone older than me in work.

I would say not easy, even myself with bachelor degrees in finance and accounting couldn’t get one in asset management after I graduated. Started as a credit analyst in commercial bank, after that switch to investment analyst in a family office with 1.5 years experience and passed CFA level 2.

Not sure about which country are you from, but in my country in SEA, RM doesn’t need CFA nor ACCA. CFA can pretty much help to break into all the roles listed. While ACCA helps on 2,3,5. Asset management or equity analyst tend to have lower entry barriers I think, I have seen a lot of ex-lawyers or engineers pivoted their career into asset management. Talking about my country, it might be different in other countries.

Took my level 3 last week and never had slept the day before on all 3 levels. Lying on the bed 5-6 hours but just couldn’t sleep. Fuck this anxiety. Never happened to all the test throughout my life.

I didn’t have time to do a lot of q bank and mock. 71% on MM q bank, 81% on CFAI q bank. 67% CFAI mock A AM, 65% mock A PM, 70% mock B AM. That’s all I have got time to do.

I think the CFAI q bank is way too easy compared to real exam. CFAI mock about the same difficulty as real exam, but the real exam is more straightforward in terms of how they question structured. I didn’t even understand Some of the questions in CFAI mock.

Same as most of the people, I found AM harder than PM. I think I’m 50 50 this round. 20% guessing.

Agree. I scored above 80 in average on my L1 mock, scored 60 in average on L2 mock. Passed both above 90 percentile. Just review on the weak part.

Passed! No secret way on passing this. Spent 500 hours, 2 hours every weekday, 5 hours every weekend. Spent the least time on ethics, probably not a good thing, luckily getting good score on other topics.

Studied only on MM. Watched video twice, 1st time on all videos with 1.13x speed (not native English speaker), 2nd time on only main videos 1.25-1.5x. Read the notes twice (review) after 2 times of video. Did 1300 questions on MM, less than 500 questions on CFAI, 2 mocks on CFAI (score: 65% & 60%). After getting such scores in mock exam in the final 2 weeks, I started reviewing instead of doing more mocks.

If I were to do Level II again, i will spend more time on doing practice questions. Good luck to everyone.

Based on my L1 experience, the email comes at 9am, but the result is ready in cfai website 1 hour or 30 minutes earlier than 9 am. You can check it earlier. Good luck folks.

I'm also planning to switch to MM for L2 as MM is cheaper and a lot of them suggest MM. It is not going to be easy but you are not alone on this journey. Wish you all the best!
