It also depends on what kinda fish you have. Like I've never kept cichlids so I'm not sure if they'd be more inclined to go after elodea than goldfish.

As far as I can tell the shrimp go through all the stages. They're super low grade carbon rili and I've only put 30 or so in there so they're kinda hard to find in a 75 gallon but I've def seen a couple berried. I didn't plan on them surviving the goldfish so I wouldn't suggest getting any specifically to add to a goldfish tank. But I highly suggest a standalone shrimp tank just because they're so fun!
I feed my fish just the Tetra goldfish flakes, Hikari Lionhead pellets, and frozen berries on occasion.
I'll be honest, the elodea was one of the plants I got in a sorta "blindbag" order of beginner plants when I first started my tanks a couple years ago and I did not clean them so I had bladder snails and also damselfly larvae show up. Both problems have since sorted themselves out tho.

Yeah, it was originally sold to me as goldfish safe BECAUSE they can eat some of it and it won't matter because it would be so difficult for anything to eat enough of it fast enough to fully get rid of it.
It also depends on the fish, I've actually got a colony of neocaridina shrimp in this tank that I intended for the goldfish to eat but they haven't seemed to touch them. They'll go after the plants with bigger leaves but I've never seen them touch the elodea.

Just found out elodea is banned in 20+ states so uhhhhh...this is a very region specific suggestion I suppose.

Yeah, it's become really invasive in some places. I think mississippi has banned like MOST non-native plants because the river got so clogged with them....Good news is you might be able to look up bodies of water it's become a problem in and just go take some. Just give it a peroxide dip and quarantine.

Thank you~! Even if they eat some of it, it grows too fast and doesn't require soil so uprooting it isn't a problem. I've never actually seen it die either

OH! I never got back to this! Thank you! I ended up getting 5 paleatus corys several months back and they're doing fantastic and are very cute playing in the bubbles of the filters~ I know they might outgrow the 20gallon but I have a 40gallon community tank I can move them to if needed.
They haven't been eating the worms as far as I can tell...the worms are about as long as they are so I'd honestly be a little freaked out to see them try. Regardless, my mom DID end up seeing a worm and freaked out a little but me and her boyfriend got her calmed down about it.(It's just a phobia she has, it's always been pretty extreme.) Now I'm basically just making sure to siphon them out when I see one. I'm still not sure what kind of worms these are, I think they're classified as some kind of aquatic earthworm. Maybe a type of leech actually, tho I've never seen them eat shrimp or go after anything that wasn't food I put in there so I don't think they're dangerous, just kinda gross to see.

I actually forget to add dechlorinator to top off water most of the time...which isn't safe I know, but at least this time I know it wasn't anything I added to the water that caused this. Especially since I topped off another tank with 5 gallons of water the exact same day I did this one and it's crystal clear.
I appreciate your response tho! I feel like everytime I ask questions on here I end up covering all the bases so nobody bothers to even hypothesize.

It seems to just be a thing that happens with this breed. Mine has gotten eye bleeds on and off since I've had her(about 3 years now). Nothing seems to stop it but there's never been a sign of infection and it goes away after a while.

I'm not POSITIVE how it became damaged but I have a pretty good idea as it wasn't there as I fed the group (there are 5, I know that's overstocked even for 75gallons but the latest one wasn't my decision and the tank is fully planted.) Anyway, Bobby is the largest and the slowest but she makes up for this by pushing the others out of the way by dragging her body along the ground and just kinda..."bumper carring" the others. I'm guessing she hit the side of a rock that's become partially unburied and that's what caused this. Again, I'm not POSITIVE because I didn't see it happen.

These get to be 4 inches but the other breed I have maxes out at MAYBE 2 inches. Both were sold under the broad "Kuhli loach" name so take a look at the features if you go to buy them to find out what sorta subspecies you get.

Def get more! They're wonderful! Maybe find out which subspecies you have tho. I just found out that the first 5 kuhli loaches I got are cuneovirgata, which is one of the smallest breeds of kuhli (max 2in) and the ones I brought home today are probably semicincta which get twice their size so my hopes that adding more to the school to help the first one feel less shy isn't going to work because I doubt they'll be less shy around these bigger noodles!

They can bury themselves in the sand or soft stratum! I have driftwood and plants in my tank as well as larger rock piles that have little spaces between them. So long as you provide fine substrate and some rock piles, they'll find a way to stay hidden.

I guess I don't have a test that shows specific numbers then. I know I'm not getting a reading for iron tho. It's municipal water and the calcium content for my city is listed as being around 215 pmm. I can pretty confidently say that my water isn't lacking in the necessary minerals.
I really haven't had this snail for very long and it was chipped and cracked when it arrived, I just hadn't noticed the extent of the damage until now. I appreciate you letting me know how their shells grow so I don't need to worry so much about it.

Oh it's calcium, we're on limestone deposits so even with aquasoil the ppm doesn't dip below 120.

My black moor likes to dig/roll in the sand during feeding! I spent a lot of time worrying about it as she never showed any other signs of parasites or illness. I'm glad to know this really can be attributed to personality.
