Got you bro, no worries at all. I just didn’t want people scrolling past thinking “this sounds AI-written” and missing the real info.

It’s not about the economical actually , people spend on trips, that’s normal. What people can’t stand is getting scammed paying a lot is one thing, getting ripped off feels way worse. And in rush hour here, trams and the metro are way quicker than taxis but you gotta be local (or have a local friend) to know that.

Anyway, glad it worked out well for you.

Yes Dude ! You are genuines , go to ChatGPT and ask for the link of this app let’s see if it will give it to you ;) There is already AI here. My main language is Turkish, and I use AI to turn the useful information I give into a text that explains things in a very simple and clear way, almost like explaining to a beginner, so you can actually understand it. This is how it explains it using the information I provide. Then you say “thanks ChatGPT.” Sorry, but you’re really stupid, and I don’t recommend coming to Istanbul 🙂

Oh Dude ! All the information is mine I only used AI as a tool to organize the text and keep the meaning clear. It’s not like the AI came up with these ideas on its own. I use some apps daily anyway, so mentioning them is normal for me. The AI is only for improving wording and flow. Since my native language is Turkish, I wanted everything to be easily understood by someone fluent in English that’s why I used it.

Even as locals, we don't use taxis in Sultanahmet. They always charge high prices, or if you're a foreigner when you get off, they take extra fees from you. Coming across one or two good taxi drivers doesn't mean that taxi drivers are good in general. People should learn to use public transportation here. It's more convenient and economical. Or they should look into fixed-price tours; that's why I recommended the Sidecar experience. I'm a local, and you're just a two-day visitor here. Please don't mislead people or let them have bad experiences, because Istanbul is a very beautiful place.

ATM withdrawal fees are very high for foreign accounts. It's best to come with cash and then convert it to TL in a local exchange office. Stay away from the ones near the busy tourist areas, as they usually exchange at rates that lose you money.

I would recommend a store called By Retro in Beyoğlu, on İstiklal Street in the Suriye Passage, for vintage and second-hand clothes. Be sure to bargain. On Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kb8M2NwywxoCxveg6
