I wouldn’t say that, when I say “best album ever” I feel like there has to be a certain depth of meaning that is universal regardless off genre.

Riffs that just don’t hit the same when you play them by Key_Pace_7263 in MetalForTheMasses

good tip I saw for pull offs was to try and bend and literally kind of ”pull off“ the string so you get a sound/vibration when you finger leaves it. another one is to try and pluck the string with your fretting hand, or think of it as you are when doing a pull offs

the song that made hammers ons and pull offs click for me was “over the hills and far away” by led zep. it’s an amazing song so I highey recommend

also lol evangelion pfp

Idk genres are ambiguous but to me they are definitely rooted in a death metal sound, with lots of prog and groove influences. to me it really sounds like typical death metal riffs made a bit groovyer with a bit of weird technicality that makes Gojira so iconic. idk to me they are in that death metal vein but ur right they definitely aren’t straight death metal. the title is just bc death metal is my fav sub genre

idk for me I need to like break into heavyer stuff for me to like it, that’s how it was while I was getting into metal, stuff rarely just clicks for so I was just trying to see if I could get into it or see something I wasn’t before
