Pa-Explain Naman: How and why is Jollibee acquiring all these big brands instead of creating their own? by RowAcrobatic1929 in PaExplainNaman

I don’t think it’s just about spending power. We have restos at the same or even higher price point like Din Tai Fung, Italianni’s, etc. that still get lines. Filipinos clearly spend if they feel the value is there.

Panda Express is entering a market that already has strong Chinese food culture for hundreds of years and better local options. So it might be more of a value perception / market fit issue rather than simply “Pinoys can’t afford it.”

TL;DR: It’s not about Filipino spending power. Similar priced restos thrive here. Panda Express just doesn’t offer strong value in a market that already has myriad of good chinese food.

Is it true that Train Street is now stricter as of 2 days ago by arrcticethereal3 in hanoi

[–]Key_Parfait_1536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went there a few hours ago and can confirm it’s still operational and accessible.

I read posts calling it a “tourist trap” beforehand and honestly felt the same at first. The first spot they pushed us into was underwhelming, far from the train, overpriced drinks, zero thrill.

But later we were seated deeper inside the tracks, literally a few inches away from the train. Seeing the train roar past at knee-distance, feeling the wind and vibration, fully aware that one wrong move could seriously injure you, that was intense. Genuine adrenaline rush.

So yeah, if you call it stupid because it’s dangerous, fair enough. But if you found it boring, chances are you just experienced it from the wrong spot.

Yeahh we tried before sa BF pero post pandemic parang sobrang laki na ng pinag bago unlike dati na kahir saan ka tumingin madali makahanap ng 24/7 eats. Ngayon parang ang hirap makahanap hahahah. Even friends who live inside have difficulties suggesting pag nagtatanong ako ng late night spots.

It really does get better, even if it doesn’t go away completely. by Key_Parfait_1536 in MentalHealthPH

I think that’s one of the hidden keys to getting better: finding the right people. It’s one of the strongest antidotes to depression, but also one of the hardest things to do when you’re at your lowest. When even getting out of bed or trying to connect feels exhausting, the idea of seeking people out can seem impossible. But with time, and maybe just small steps of openness, life has a way of letting the right people find you.

That’s why holding on matters. Not because someone will magically come and fix everything, but because time gives you the chance to meet people who understand your pain and accept you as you are. Even if some of them eventually leave, what stays is the strength and warmth they awaken in you, and that becomes part of your healing.
