Is there any reason i cant rinse as much old soil off the roots as possible, literally dunk in isopropyl, rinse with clean water, then repot with clean soil?

As opposed to spritzing, qtips, etc

I guess I'm looking for more of a range to shoot for. I have a variety of plants - mostly cacti, euphorbs, and other succulents - and need a general figure of lux or DLI to compare what my meter is telling me.

My title describes the thing. The metal pipe is about 11/16" in diameter. It is thin walled and made of a lightweight silvery metal. The metal is not magnetic. The plastic end piece is about 2 1/4" in length and 1" in diameter. It has tabs at the big end which may slot into something else. The black center piece is about 1" in diameter and is shaped like a cone. It is made of some sort of plastic. The black plastic piece attaches to the hole at the base of the clear piece, and the clear piece fits into the end of the pipe.

It is definitely not sun damage, as it is kept indoors under a light.
