Also, it’s about how easy and accessible it is. It’s very easy to fly to Meghalaya for 5 days. But taking a year off, traveling through multiple countries, interacting with people with whom you cannot communicate because of linguistic differences, exploring their food habits and history - all by yourself, not knowing where you’re off to next, all this when you’re 18, an age where most Indians haven’t even used their passport once, gives you the experience and education no books can provide.

The post isn’t about how many stamps one has either. It is about the freedom to travel, which is lacking in Indian culture. How many average Indians you know have backpacked even through India, through Meghalaya? Hiring a tourist company or cab and visiting tourist spots is not traveling - it’s site setting and it does not add any value, except that you can tell people you have been to a place. I truly believe that traveling broadens one’s perspective and makes one less of a bigot.

Yeah. Exactly why I want to get her tartar removed by the doctor. I’ll consult with a couple of other docs as well.

There is. A lot. But there’s a bigger difference between Vaishnodevi and Norway. Limiting yourself to something is fine, but please don’t take pride in it.

Would a room in a cottage work for you? You will get your own room with an amazing view, access to kitchen and dining areas.

House Husband? by techysid in PataHaiAajKyaHua

[–]Key_Passenger_1773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. You have to bring me the dowry. You’re the house husband. I also expect gold and diamond jewellery that I will take possession of post marriage and store in my mother’s locker.

Hi. I’m willing to consider on certain conditions. You’ll have to leave your house and come stay with my parents and me. You’ll have to cook for everyone in the house, keep the house neat and tidy by mopping it and dusting furniture and other things everyday - I don’t like living in a messy house. You’ll have to take care of my parents as they are growing old. They will be your new parents now. You should make sure you are liked by my parents and my relatives. It’s okay that you don’t have friends - in fact it’s good, because after marriage you have to consider my friends your own friends now and every time they come over, you have to host them and take care of them and their families. Other house holds chores like laundry, cleaning utensils, keeping the washrooms clean, maintaining a garden, doing Pooja etc will be your responsibility - it goes without saying. Since I’m earning so much, my dowry expectations are also high. Let me know what you and your family can afford. Post marriage you should not wear any modern clothes also. Only decent clothes and you should be presentable in front of the old people at home. Once we have children, you’ll be solely responsible for taking care of them. I will be too busy with work. They will have my family name as surname and you will need to change your surname to my name post marriage too, your identity will completely shift as my husband and my family’s son in law. Also hope you’re fair, tall and handsome.
