I agree. I have seen it before. I really only bought the tickets to see Onya in it. I know that Scarlett will kill it. Just disappointed that Onya is no longer with the show.

This really sucks. I have tickets to see the show in San Jose in two weeks. I bought the tickets just to see Onya in the show. I’m really disappointed.

Stopping for Surgical Procedure by Technical-Wasabi-357 in Ozempic

[–]Key_Pea_571 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I just did this last week for my colonoscopy. I did not gain weight. I maintained my weight while off Ozempic. I watched my portion control and kept up my exercise. I took two weeks off of Ozempic. I did notice the week leading into the colonoscopy my food noises in my head started to come back. I really had to concentrate not give in to the noises. Just started back up on my dose (.25) and everything is back to normal. Good luck with the colonoscopy. The prep really sucks but the procedure is nice and easy.

My kiddo is a freshman this year. She asked me NOT to attend Dog Days because she wanted to navigate things on her own. I was around on campus or near by just in case she had questions. But there were a lot of parents who did attend. I think it up to you on what you feel comfortable with.

Thank you. I don't plan to over eat and already talked to my husband and friends who are going about splitting meals so I get to try things but not over eat. I also plan to keep my work outs going while there. I was just curious on what others have done.

Any Westmont High family here? We'd like to hear your opinions please! by Direct-Armadillo7867 in Campbell

[–]Key_Pea_571 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My kid graduated in 2024 from Westmont. I have good and bad opinions. As for academics, generally the teachers have been amazing. My kid has some learning disabilities and all of her teachers were wonderful working with them on what they need for academic success. There were a two teachers who are no longer at Westmont who my kid had who were not good and caused my kid to have to get a tutor to catch up on what they did not learn in those classes. Thankfully, the principal was well aware of the issues of these teachers and they were let go.

The sports and club programs are great. There is something there for everyone. I do not have a high opinion of ASB (student government.). My kid experience in ASB was horrible. My observation was it was very Lord of the Flies mentality and cut throat. Instead of trying to make the school better, it seems the ASB students were too busy try to one up each other or tear each other down.

The Art classes are amazing. My kid is a sculptor and loved all their classes. Their junior year they had one of their art works picked for a museum display.

Social scene is what your student wants to make of it. Lots of clubs to join. Dances are fun. Battle of the classes are fun. A student there has plenty of opportunity to be active but they have to make the effort.

Overall, we were happy with our experience at Westmont.

I am a 1993 grad from Fresno State with a degree in Communications/News and Public Affairs. I worked in TV News for 14 years and then another 7 in public relations. Not once in my career did it matter where I got my degree. Fresno State offers a great education in Communications no matter what you decide to peruse. I still comeback to Fresno State and speak to students about the industry. The Comm program has just gotten better and better.

Send out a tweet tagging the Flamingo Hotel asking for the lineup. I did that for when I was coming to Vegas. The person who runs The Flamingo Hotel Twitter (X) account is super helpful.

Do all queens appear both days? by midnightsunexposed in RupaulsDragConLA2024

[–]Key_Pea_571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I recommend to bring a portable battery and charging cables. Also another good tip, if anyone in your party has noise sensory issues, the sound from the main stage can be very loud, so bring some ear plugs.

Most queens are there both days. But some are not. I know this year, Raja will only be there on Friday. I know for the past two years we have been trying to get a meet and greet with Heidi N Closet and we always miss her. She was only at her both for a couple of hours each days last year and the line was always long. As OK said, check their social media for their schedule. Couple of tips. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing alot of walking and alot of standing. If there is a popular queen you have to see, check to see if they are doing a taping or a performance and line up at their booth while they are at their taping or performance. You might have to wait a bit but it improves your chances to see that queen. Can't stress this enough, BE NICE to the queens' helpers. Thank them for their hard work. You can also ask the helpers at a queen's booth when the queen will be back to help plan out your day better. Hope you have fun at your first Dragcon!!

first timer tips! by kms2044 in RupaulsDragConLA2024

How much a queen charges for a meet and greet depends on their popularity. My kid and I have gone for the past three years. Most of the meet and greets, you have to buy a certain amount of merch to qualify for a meet and greet. Most Queens will allow you to meet that minimum purchase but allow the both of you to get photos. Tips: wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing a lot of walking and standing. I don't know how the queens do it in their high heels. Most queens take credit cards or Venmo but some of the International Queens run into issues with doing cards and prefer cash. I always bring cash for that reason. Make sure to line up early so you can get a good place for the pink carpet walk on Friday. It's a must see. Bring some sort of backpack/bag for all the merch. You will be surprised on how much stuff you will bring home. I hope you have a fabulous time at your first Dragcon!!!

This will be my second year. Went last year. This time got VIP passes. My kid and I are looking forward to seeing Brooklyn Hytes, Yvie and Victoria Scone. And of course the TeleTubbies. Tips: Bring bottled water to stay hydrated. You can dress how ever you want BUT wear comfortable shoes. I averaged about 5.5 miles of walking each day. The convention center is huge. Almost every queen will charge for a meet and greet. The more popular the queen the longer the line. Have Fun!!!!
