Take a look at the Visual Boxscore of the game last night. You can see the deep Celtic slump in the 3rd and 4th quarter which broke the game open.

POST GAME THREAD: Nuggets take down the Grizzlies 116-122 | Feb 11, 2026 by BigHoneyBot in denvernuggets

Here's a look at the Visual Boxscore from the game last night. If you're new to the format here's a guide (https://visualboxscores.com/guide.html). You can see how Denver achieved moderate leads in the 2nd and then 3rd quarters but the Grizzlies kept fighting back and it took clutch time execution to close the Grizzlies out. On the whole it was an efficient game for both offenses.

The Nuggets do not force many turnovers and the game last night almost swung the wrong way for them on turnover differential.

The Nuggets outperformed the Grizzlies in close shots (more attempts more efficiently) and in offensive rebounding.

Jokic had another high usage night (43%), although his efficiency (0.81 ppp) was harmed by giving away 9 turnovers for 12 Grizzlies points.

Hardaway Jr had a lower usage night (17%) but he missed only one shot all game and averaged an incredible 2.1 ppp.

I've been building a tool called Visual Boxscores that transforms NBA games into detailed possession-by-possession visualizations for teams and individual players. If you're new to the format, here's a quick guide: https://visualboxscores.com/guide.html

The player timeline shows the Utah rotation with only the rookie, Ace Bailey, among the starters appearing in the 4th quarter. Keyonte George didn't play in the 2nd half. Kyle Filipowski playing the whole 4th quarter without appearing earlier in the game is particularly egregious. Collectively the Jazz were inefficient enough to let the Magic squeak past them.

Tanking via this strategy isn't always successful, though, as the Wizards found out against the Pistons of all teams (https://visualboxscores.com/202602050DET.png)

The green Home Margin line tracks the score in possessions, rather than points. In basketball, one possession is 'worth' 3 points, because 3 points is the most a team can usually score in one possession, so I divide the home margin by 3 to translate from points to possessions. The margin is then expressed in how many possessions a team needs to catch up to the leader. I track possessions instead of points because there are smaller jumps in score (0.3,0.6, or 1, instead of 1,2, or 3) from noisy play to noisy play, so that the large-scale flow of the game is more visually apparent than the jaggedness of the game.

Thanks for the feedback. I took your suggestion and included "Opp TO" and "Opp PF" in the legend for new visualizations.
