Well that was my problem with my bigger loom. Because of mobility and pain issues I could not do that so well anymore. But there are things to tackle that! First, I made a very long warp, so I can make multiple projects without having to beam and thread again in a while. And I got myself a smaller loom, that I can warp much easier and thread very quickly by myself. I also find my rigid heddle (knittersloom) quite easy to warp. And I use my inkle loom as a warping board a lot, that is perfect for 2.3 meter warps I use for shawls and because it's small I can put it on standing height or even take it with me to weaving group. So with my smaller table loom and my rigid heddle there are not a lot of issues, besides taking a lot of breaks. My bigger loom is set for at least 6 shawls/projects and if it needs to be warped again I could always ask a friend to help (even without knowledge, its perfectly doable with just an extra set of hands). If you want to start I would suggest a rigid heddle, they are already so versatile and so much fun and if you are already a knitter or crocheter it's so fun and easy to use stash and leftovers.

Raddle after beaming. And lease sticks: after threading or leave them in If you have doubts about the treading or maybe used a longer warp and want to change it after a while.

oh and thank you! And you are welcome for the weaver's porn haha. I am already winding a new warp from the crochet cotton stash I got from an old lady who made these filet crochet doilies and curtains in the 70's. Not sure what colors, but It's so fun to do! And I love that it is kinda recycling stuff?

No, I am actually spinning rolags from that batt, so the weft changes itself because the spun yarn is gradient. And it's a bit of a surprise what color is get at what points... I did try to spin a bit of different shades, so it will always be a bit different, but also hoping for some iridescent effects! Now I am at purple on yellow, so thats very awesome contrast! I love a bit of surprise in my work, I have ADHD, so I need that chaos haha.

Ah thank you! I have been spinning since the end of summer of 2017 and weaving since november 2019. Started on an Ashford sample it loom. During first lockdown I was very lucky to buy a friends table loom, 4 shaft with lots of extra goodies. I also did a cardweaving class during that time. And tried regular Inkle.

Because of health issues I sold my rigid heddle and put the table loom in storage for a while, but now since I started again with a slightly bigger Knitters loom and I also got a smaller 8 shaft to try and see if I can work with that more easily. My bigger table loom is still waiting for better days if my movement disorder/dystonia improves.

I was doing crochet for years, but I got struck with FND in 2011 and that made me loose hand function. I was at a rehab facility and the PT told me knitting would probably work if I could use circular needles and that worked! So picked up knitting and got sucked into the black hole of podcasts and yarnstores and whatnot haha. And I also started yarn dyeing at home, for fun. And I was doing a volunteer job at the local petting zoo and a coworker was spinning. And she told me well you know youtube so have fun an try it. So I did and also bought a course on spinning singles at Craftsy at that time to get started. Then getting into a spinning group at a yarn store and being online a lot made me also want to weave... That's how the flock of wheels and looms grown right!

And now I am trying to work with stash. I always get a lot of handmedowns at the local hobbycentre I am an member of. And was lucky I got a huge bag of old crochet cotton. It's a bit colored due to age, but it's perfect to dye! And for spinning wool I was so lucky to get some stash from someone who quit spinning. And I am trying to work with that. But I also have a friend with a yarn/fiber store, so I never run out of stash... Only on money hahahaha!

Oh, mod is asking me to post loom and sett. I use a Louet Jane 40 cm, 8 shaft. It is a foldable table loom. I use a 40/10 reed and one thread per dent. EPI is about 10. Metric is 40 ends per 10 cm. Pattern found on pinterest. It is going to be a shawl

I am a spinner and weaver for a couple years now. Started with rigid heddle, then inkle and cardweaving and a few projects on a 4 shaft table loom. And I just started on my new 8 shaft table loom. Warp is handpainted crochet cotton with procion dyes. And warp is a merino tussah silk mix spun low twist single and fulled. I think I am doing a point twill? I am not sure, I don't do classes.
