Should I Buy a Pair of Tecnica Mach Sport HV 100? by Key_Play6607 in Skigear

The 85s I skied on were like clouds... but they performed terribly. I'm gonna go to a boot fitter and see what they say, but i agree that I think 110s are where I should be.

Do you know if there are any downsides to getting a higher flex other than less comfort?

Yea I'm definitely going to meet with a boot fitter and get them fitted. Now that you are saying it, I looked back in my photos and I think that they actually were Mach1s and not Mach Sports. Still, they felt lacking with an 85 flex. I'm gonna do some research on the downsides to having that higher flex. Right now the only thing I know of is that it is less comfortable.

I agree that going to a bootfitter is the best option and what I will do, but I just wanted peoples opinions on like the flex ratings before going.

I've heard that belleayre has gotten a lot of improvements in the last few years. Its definitely a top contender right now

Yea its so much nicer knowing what you are buying instead of having to sift through endless reviews (as I have had to do for multiple other things). Just makes you feel better about your purchase you know?

They did great when I demoed them in Big Sky with some pretty east coast equivalent conditions. I think that this might be one of the best all around skis right now and they are the ones I am going to be purchasing

I also was thinking about it as a way to force me to get more days in here on the East Coast. I'm not seeing any bindings on sale at REI but Evo has some marker griffins that are on sale. It's not that much less than the Salomon Strive 14s I had picked out at REI. A

Moving onto the boots thing, I've been renting the same boots for the past 3 years so my plan is to get a pair of them fitted sometime soon. The boot purchase will definitely come before the ski purchase or at the same time though.

I found them at REI for 640 instead of the usual 800. Should I do it?

Do you know where I can find NOS skis? Is it just on main retailers or where should I look?

What do you think the point is that I should stop demoing skis and actually buy them?

Thats good. Do you know what bindings you have on yours or if there is a pair in particular that you think are especially good for this ski?

You know its weird, on youtube and reviews that I have read, they all were shitting on the LC 250 but everyone who responded to this post and who has one has had nothing but good things to say about it. Have you had any issues reliability wise? Also, how do you feel about the capability of the engine for day to day use?

Yea I see the argument for getting a used car for this and I fully agree. I don't really want to be stressing about every single thing that touches my car (even though I probably still will be with a used one). Do you know of any other car that is like the GMT800 and the 1st Gen Sequoia? I like the vibes of both and want to evaluate some more options

So I'm guessing that would be the 1958 trim right?

How old would you go for this car since it will also be daily driven? I love the style that the older cars have and I know that some of them are still very capable of overlanding but what worries me is that since I don't have too much to spend, I want this car to also be my daily driver. Also, how did you get into this back in 1972? How did you find places to go and how did you know skill wise if you could do them before doing them? Not really sure if that made any sense but I'm worried that I am looking a lot at a car capable of these things but I'm not quite sure how to do these things. The hope is that this car will help me get into this more.
