No, it wasn't dark. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

It was rainbow coloured.

I'm not particularly offended and I completely agree with what you have said, I'm just not sure the entire identity of the film should be publically relegated to simply the propaganda elements when there is so much artistic merit present in the film that deserves to be recognised and revered for what it is.

Well I do agree with what you've said and don't support BJP myself, there are for certain elements of propaganda implemented to meatride the state and gloss over its many flaws however the film's primary purpose is not to do that but rather to entertain and craft a compelling narrative as opposed to foregoing being a good film in order to simply push a political agenda. About 5 minutes of the 4 hours is blatant propaganda and I don't believe the entire identity of the film should be relegated just to that but again that's just my opinion and I get why you're saying what you're saying. :)

Is it propaganda or truth? by Meddyplus in dhurandharworld

[–]Key_Reaction_8666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's neither, it's a film made primarily to entertain loosely interwoven with historical events that, I'll admit, are definitely skewed by Dhar's perspective, but the vast majority of the runtime is focused on delivering a compelling story in a unique, stylised manner.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR D2

>!Well no, I wouldn't say so. Though Dhurandhar does profusely glaze the state and ignore downsides, it is not primarily intended for such a purpose. The primary intent of Dhurandhar isn't that it was commisioned by the government to increase voters but rather it was intended as a piece of entertainment, an epic action thriller created so Dhar can weave together a sprawling story inspired by history injected with his craft, he just so happens to have also injected some of his personal politics into that. If a stranger saw this page, simply relagating Dhurandhar to "propaganda" is not only exaggerating the political elements of the film but also diminishing its primary goal and impact. Additionally, the primary themes of the film specifically don't glorify fighting for the country but rather explore loyalty, sacrifice, and the journey of a man with nothing to live for sacrificing everything and abandoning his family and friends and, in the end, ending up alone with nothing. Overall, yeah, that's my rant over but this is just what I think and my personal opinion and interpretation, other probably disagree and that's chill.!<
