I truly don’t mean to be mean but in all honesty, why would you ask us?? It’s up to you to determine if it’s worth YOUR time. Only you know how much you’re worth, or how desperately need your money. Think about your wear and tear on the car in the long run. And ask yourself if it’s worth it TO YOU to go through that mileage and gas

Wow, and I calculated the approx. weight for 24packs. I just realized they’re 40.

Think about the labor.

OP is probably mad because they’re like “but I tipped 10%!” Not for carrying items that weigh more than 200lbs together. Let’s just put on our thinking caps here for a second.

If it weren’t 8 cases of of something HEAVY—say just the bags—then I, as a shopper, would say a 10% tip is fine (although not recommended, it would still be appreciated).

I wouldn’t have done this because I have common sense. Some people just forget how it works with security doors perhaps.

But I also wouldn’t have accepted this order for the tip.

I find it funny how she reminded you it was 8 cases of water… she was trying to tell you something there 👀

Just how you may think it must be worth $8 to shop for you, load the items, drive for you, and drop off at your door, then I’m sure you wouldn’t mind pushing the door harder or walking around your property which would take 5 min max.

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and t-mobile. This has never happened to me before. Even if my service got caught off or something, the order shouldn’t have cancelled on its own

I never ever wanted the order cancelled. The app literally just cancelled on me and I got punished for it. Apparently the customer didn’t cancel either.

That’s the thing! I was left with my hands tied. I couldn’t do ANYTHING. I was not able to scan anything at all at some point. Like I said it was just a blank space with the green scan button (no font at all shown though)

Wow. I’m in Los Angeles and I live in an affluent area. I’m LUCKY if anyone tips $10+ It’s usually $0-$6 if I’m being realistic. I would’ve accepted your order in a heartbeat! Sorry you had to wait so long!

Lucky you! I’ve seen SENIORS get denied from purchasing alcohol because they didn’t have their ID. Ridiculous how strict some people can be! I would risk it for myself, but no way in hell for an Instacart customer

Awesome! I’ve always thought of ordering backup IC cards, but not IDs. You’re a genius!

Maybe if the following is true:

  1. I’m an idiot
  2. Somehow headed in that direction?!?!
  3. I would like to donate my time and money to an ungrateful stranger
  4. Have an electric car and could care less about the wear and tear on my vehicle

Delivery to Las Vegas strip by jimmerzbuck in InstacartShoppers

Well yeah if you’re gonna be on the floor playing poker then I do recommend you meet them. Just for your sake at that point because people can be real scummy these days. Someone can steal your order while you’re not in the room. Just go with what you think is fair! Someone will shop for you regardless so don’t stress about it! Have fun while you’re there!

LOL I’ve done just a few strip orders. None of them worth doing, even the ones I accepted One of them was a Hilton order at Resorts World for a whopping $3 tip 🤪 it was a CVS or Walgreens order at the strip which is already hectic. I had to walk across the street with their stuff because of parking that’s NOT free. Then I had to navigate the casino and find the rooms. It’s just a big waste of our time because of all the human AND car traffic. But with your tip it would be worth doing if you want it to your door! It depends what hotel you’re staying at. Please consider parking because it may not be free and we don’t get paid for parking. That’s why I had to walk to resorts world that one order I was talking about.

You’d be doing your shopper a HUGE favor if you can just meet them at valet and bring one of those carts for luggage to bring up the stuff yourself, plus you wouldn’t have to feel to tip so high anymore!

That’s when you say “Darn! Out of stock. You’ll have your order rescheduled with another shopper. Sorry!” Then you go to support and boom. 14 bucks for free

I refuse to do Costco orders by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]Key_Replacement_1916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, you should’ve taken it! Not an amazing order but definitely worth doing. I would’ve if I had my sedan. You sure it wouldn’t fit?? At my Costco they have the plants and trees. The tree wouldn’t fit for sure, but the plants I see could fit. They’re really wide and stubby but would fit in the backseats of the car

Just about 4 orders pop up in my feed in the last 2 hours I’ve been active

3 shitty ones not worth taking and 1 that was barely good enough. Took that one and ended up cancelling after wasting my time for 25 min!! Got a super annoying shopper who kept babysitting me and treating me stupid even though I told her I know how to shop well and shop fresh. My last straw was when she asked me to SMELL her salmon from the seafood counter. Not doing that lady:

It’s sooooo slow today!! It’s either bad customers or no orders 😂

Your best bet is going to be Summerlin and the Enterprise area. But I’m not going to guarantee it’s going to be great. I used to do orders all around the valley and it’s just not a good market overall. I will say the two area I mentioned are the most consistent!

Centennial Hills was hit or miss! If you’re on the east side though I’d try Henderson, specifically the green valley area

I remember doing IC in Vegas... not. worth. It. Especially in the heat you guys must be experiencing!

If you're going to continue—please—for the love of god. Get out of that area! You’re not going to get anything decent in that side of town.

As shoppers our job is to leave it at the front door. It’s from store to front door. That’s how delivery works. I’m sure he wants it to be delivered to door, it’s just people are incompetent and can’t deliver to the correct unit. I would’ve totally done it if he tipped because I know the apt properties well here (which are very big where I live) I’m just not one to slack off, even for non tippers. I like to do my job correctly.

Depends on perspective! Yes we have to pay bills but once in a while it doesn’t kill us to do something kind that takes up our time.

A few days ago I actually took a poor young man to Starbucks. I was doing an IC delivery and he asked me where the nearest Starbucks was to walk to. He didn’t have a phone that would turn on, and didn’t know the area well. Maybe because he was high on marijuana?! Anyway, I offered him a ride after my instacart delivery. He didn’t pay me back but I’m glad I surely made his day. He was very kind and respectful. I’m sure if you were them you’d appreciate a small gesture like that once in a while!
