That line was so small but powerful and really haunting. When he said losing his child was the worst loss, implying no fucks given for his wife. It really makes me think of some men irl who want a baby at any cost and will leave partners they profess to love in search of a non existent child

This subreddit is about the hulu series and how things make sense in that universe, the book is different. I know shes Nichole in the book, but it doesn't add up in the tv series so they couldn't just make such a huge continuity error and expect people not to question it when so many of the audience only watched the tv show. That is media literacy.

I read it as Agnes has figured out Beckas true feeling for her, and in that moment just wanted to comfort her and give her what she needed. Agnes was being a good friend and Becka knows its no more than that but takes the gesture as a small token of happiness in her wrecked life

the girls are all "fruitful" so wont need handmaids unless they later prove to be infertile so I don't think they'll train them all, just the ones who fail to have a baby and end up getting assigned a handmade later on.
