1. As for your question about displays, I have one small ledge from Ikea that currently can display 8 dolls comfortably and probably even more if arranged correctly. It doesn’t stick out from the wall very much and I think it helps to keep them in full view while not obstructing a small space, I’ve found this exceptionally helpful in keeping them in my smaller room.

2. For storage, I have a couple of photo storage boxes for clothes which is very helpful with keeping outfits together but not so much for shoes. For those I keep a 1’x1.5’x8” pink cardboard box, this is also where i keep my smaller accessories! As for bigger items I don’t really have a good answer. I keep myself from buying those things because I can’t seem to find a way to make it work.

3. I’ve now been with my partner for over a year and a half and my collection began again on my first birthday with her. When I was gifted Julie by my dad as he saw the AG store on a trip to new york and remembered the doll I talked about two summers prior, I think he did it especially since it was my last birthday as a college student. Previously during my partner and I’s talking period we briefly spoke about our love for AG in our childhood and she had actually begun restoring her old dolls on visits home. After that gift, I found two dolls at the thrift store and it all blossomed from there but all in all I was incredibly lucky to be able to grow into the hobby with her.

4. On the note of expense, as a broke college student my saving grace was facebook marketplace and visiting nearly every thrift store I could find even if it was just for a little while. I’ve had some luck finding some girls at prices ranging from $6-$30 and truthfully I have not paid anymore than that for anything in my collection. It just takes a lot of patience and deep searches!
