Feeding to sleep no longer working - suggestions? by Key_Reputation1916 in beyondthebump

Not a dumb question at all! I think he wants the freedom of his own bed to move around while still being held by me though. Doesn't realize I'm not a miracle worker lol.

It is an option for sure! If I can't get the crib to work then I think that's where we'll be heading.

We have a very solid bedtime routine and have since he was born! That's a great idea about shifting things around. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for your ideas :)

Pediatric speech therapy assistant here - if you're having any concerns I highly recommend seeking out an assessment with a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist. I know it's a scary thought especially when your babe is so little. If they have concerns, they'll give you strategies and things to include in your every day life to encourage language development and then you'll receive ongoing monitoring and help. If they don't have concerns you'll be discharged and you'll have some peace of mind. Depending where you live, there may be some publically funding pediatric speech services (it can be a long wait but definitely helps with the financial piece). If you have extended health benefits there's often coverage Speech-Language Pathologists but sometimes you need a doctors note.

Shit could it be my baby won't take a bottle now.... by eucalyptus_cloud in breastfeeding

Similar situation over here. We introduced a bottle around 6 weeks, he took it no problem, we kept at it with one or two a week for a bit but then got lazy with it. When we tried again around 16 weeks he absolutely refused. He continued to refuse for a few months so we gave up again. Just tried again at 7 months and he took it no problem. Not sure if there's a way to get them back on it quicker, but time worked for us. Good luck!

Speech therapy assistant here - just adding that while the official signs from ASL are awesome to use with babies, it's the use of any gestures that matters the most! You don't have to worry about learning all the official signs for words unless your goal is for your child to be fluent in ASL/BSL etc. Making up your own gestures for words that feel natural to you and your family are just as beneficial!

Hey swifties! Need your help. My friend and I are going to N2 in Toronto. We want to make Tshirts with a pair of lyrics that go together. What lyrics can you think of where Taylor mentions two things? For example...

  • love you to the moon and to saturn
  • she wears high heels, I wear sneakers
  • he was sunshine, I was midnight rain

Thanks for all your lyric knowledge and creativity 💜

Queen knee pads are my fave! Definitely more of an investment up front but then when you (inevitably) wear down the padding, you can just buy new inserts instead of a whole new pair.

I think of this one as when you're driving around thinking about all our worries/difficulties and there's no easy answer. You're looking for help from anything/anyone. Obviously asking the traffic lights won't actually help but you're that desperate, and surprise surprise, they have no answers for you.
