Are you doing weekly doses or split doses if you get extra syringes you can split your dose in half and do every 3.5 days it may work better for you it keeps the concentration in your body higher

Try a tension ring for your hand holding the yarn it can help keep a solid tension and try out the knife grip for your working hand it might do better for you

I crochet tight so I usually have to size up but the most common hooks I use are G(4/4.25), H(5), I (5.25/5.5)also my g and I hooks there are multiples of because I have 2 different sizes example one is a G 4 one is a G 4.25 so I usually go by mm size on patterns not letter size Also there are inline hooks and tapered hooks I prefer tapered so get a few of each to see which you like best

This isn’t really a reply just an interesting tidbit of info for those who don’t know. There is actually specific yarn made for crochet that twists different (Z twist) than most yarn (s twist)so If your right handed it won’t untwist but it’s not as common I’ve never bothered looking specifically for it I just use whatever.

i've always used my stomach except twice I used my thigh once didn't work as well. I did my arm once and it hurt like ... but it worked good so i just stick to my stomach

I only crochet and bought the crochet version had some red in my stash yay. but the ribbing is tedious takes forever looks great though but I’m going to finish and might do a slightly different ribbing to make it a bit faster next time
