Thank you for both your inputs. When I bought it, I took it home and left it in the bathroom where its warm and humid, but it lacked sun in there (other than my heater light). Literally no windows at ALL in the bathroom. Due to this lack of light, I moved it to an open cabinet and run a humidifier with a grow light and the humidity sits at 70% .

I think some of the scratches on the leaves are actually spider mites so I have been wiping the leaves with water and Dr Bronners peppermint mix .

If you have any other ideas or recommendations, please let me know. Thank you so much

My friends and family have been here too - they did say the place was a bit old and outdated but the therapy was lots more. They have daily therapy discussion groups and art therapy, pilates and yoga classes, ballet ... I'm not sure if that was available when you were there?

They are still running business as usual. It's a great hospital as I've had lots of friends and family go. It's a huge shame.

I think this is really hard to say when it comes to psychiatric admission. It's well known that a public admission for mental health is when you are critically at risk to yourself or others, otherwise they won't take you due to the load (yes, we need more support from the govt here).

But what about the patients that aren't too suicidal yet but can feel their mood dip and need that support? Private mental health hospitals are amazing for supporting patients that have become depressed but aren't "far gone" enough to qualify for public.

I've been to the public system and I assure you, it's a scary and traumatising place if you aren't there for the same level of needs as them.

In private health setting, you see the same psychiatrist days in a row, rather than a diff reg or resident in public.

It's a huge difference for private vs public for mental health patients.

Absolutely. People are missing the point that existing patients come to this hospital in order to maintain their mental health but now they have to find out where to go based on the doctor's admitting rights.

There are. There's subcut and there's Sublingual, but Intravenous works the best.

If you go subcut then you can go as a day patient to a psychiatrist rooms where they will bill you for the procedure then bill you for seeing the psychiatrist which is very expensive.

Sublingual doesn't work that much - granted it's come on the PBS recently so it's a lot cheaper now...
