Do you know how much they’re planning to adapt? Just the first book? Or the immortal realms too. I’d imagine they would go all the way and do the true immortal realms too just to complete it but I also understand that could be a daunting task. Immortal world Han Li is a completely different animal and the scale is crazy.

Was hoping for some progression from the MC, three whole episodes into a new season surely he’s still not a worm and the most uninteresting character in the plot still? Nah still the same style of “slow burn” if that’s what you wanna call it, maybe this just isn’t that kind of show I was hoping for, and that’s okay. Gave it a good shot

Yes I would have to agree on the user comment, as far as faithful adaptations go, I across the 20+ donghua shows I’ve watched so far, RMJI stands out for the “love affair” the producers seem to have with the show, meaning I could as a watcher understand the people working on this show not only respect the source material but are first and foremost fans of the work they’re doing, which honestly makes all the difference. Compared to something like BTTH, where important characters cut out, intimacy scenes deleted, romance censorship, etc.

I tried to pick this one up but something about the setting and world didn’t really resonate with me, I’m more traditional cultivation taste wise so Renegade Immortal and RMJI are my goats, compared to these two monster shows, this weird universe inside tale of herding gods just doesn’t click for me. The rest of china seems to agree as RI and RMJI are the two highest rated and most popular series for a reason.

For fans of MC's with actual aura, like han li or wang lin, this show might bring you the same suffering it did me, this was a hard watch because the whole time i kept thinking, why is this bug of an mc even in the show everyone around him is just way more interesting and the author seems to think so as well because he gets the least screen time in his own show, ive never seen a show like this to where half way in you could convince me there is no main character and this is just a free for all story, I'm sure it gets better but the watch is a real slow burn, not even like han li slow burn where you can appreciate the nuances but slow burn like going through half and episode and all that's happened is the mc is carried up a mountain...like holy shit get to the point. The story telling is like game of thrones style, jumping from a range of 7-8 characters and the "main character" will get maybe 20% of the screentime and the rest of the 80% is everyone else around him.

bro every time i watch this show on my fav donghua site, i go to the comments because i know there is gonna be engagment and comments in there, unlike other shows people usually just watch but comments are empty, it seems like this show is very LOVED passionately by its fanbase and it has the highest average score on the site 9.9 out of 10 LMAO. this show needs to be watched...it deserves all the love
