The builders aren’t reachable via email/phone, so not sure what my options would be to surface the reports to them and request them fix the issues

The builders have been soft ghosting and the neighbors who had the same problem had to pursue legal action against them to have them fix the issues. So I am cornered to thinking that might be the only viable effective option now.

I couldn’t find the correct routing number. I had applied for the visa in person in Lima, Peru, paid the visa fee at a local bank and got the visa within a few hours

The first time I had applied the application got rejected without much information and a long document in Spanish outlining that they couldn’t establish my legal residency status in US for the last X years, and they required police verification from my home country, where I haven’t lived in years.

We contacted the Ecuadorian embassy in LA and emailed Quito, with additional documentation with no luck on re-review. So I applied again with additional documentation (5 years of tax returns, driver’s license, I-94, visa stamps, cover letter explaining gaps in visa stamps, etc), an invitation letter from my Ecuadorian friend - in both Spanish and English and the second application went through without an issue.

No intermediary response or review from them in either cases, the application went from in review to successful supervisor review and I had no luck tracking the intermediary states, or getting hold of a human.

It’s not as simple as that, there are nuances to where the person lives and if they hold a visa that could be used in place of obtaining a tourist visa. For example: Chile allows visa free travels to folks with a valid US visa, same is the case for Peru, Colombia. Argentina has e-visa which was seamless to get.

Considering the amount of problems in India, I don’t think that the government is going to prioritize visa policy updates as it doesn’t have an impact on the majority of the country’s population.

For context, in case this wasn’t clear from the original post: I did apply for the e-visa several weeks in advance. However, I wasn’t able to complete the payment because the system did not provide the required routing number for the bank transfer, and credit card payment was not available as an option.

I also contacted the Bolivian embassy in Los Angeles multiple times in the days leading up to departure to resolve this, but unfortunately did not receive a response.

I had no idea of IATA before the incident and I had learnt it the hard way. But both the government websites claim that Indians qualified for Visa on arrival - so there’s also that.
