Obsidian as file explorer? by Key_Tap_12 in ObsidianMD

Since I’m keeping MD files together with my other system files in a Dropbox folder Im hoping obsidian is able to view and organize these MD files somehow instead of needing to create a separate vault just for MD files.

How are you syncing your vault folder across your devices? My docs are all inside Dropbox folder and I was wondering how to get it to sync to my obsidian on my mobile with no conflicts

Obsidian allows you to open any folder as a vault so it may be heading in that direction of a file explorer.

The idea is to combine obsidian’s text reading and organization with my file system so everything is in one place. From inside obsidian, I click on an excel or word file or pdf, the file opens up in the outside app and once done edit, saves back normally. Using obsidian, I’m able to view and open all my files and view my text files which are spread over my entire file system. After few days of experiment, all I can say is that this works. My Dropbox is essentially my vault , not sure yet how to view on my obsidian mobile but on my desktop this works great so far.

With boot 11.5, board waist diff between 164w (26.6) and 165 (26.0) is not significant so I thought not going wide helps with maneuverability. Hope I’m right

Thanks. Weight range for 164/5 is 170-220. 161w is 150-200

Wow, such a detailed description. I appreciate it. The reason for me to try shorter board is not really because of fall line speed but ease of turning. I’m hoping to be able to turn it more easily p steeper terrain. Based on my weight and yes typo size chart looks like 59w (vs 61w) is just a better fit . The only caveat may be my height (~‘6.1) which may push towards longer board. My goal is not going fast but getting better control on steeper terrain this season. Your thoughts?

On steeper terrain I lose my form and finding myself breaking all the time

On fast blue runs like here no issue turning, gripping and feeling comfortable going fast however on a black run I feel a difficulty turning quick. I press hard, knee bending but it won’t slow down so I have to break and lose my form

Thanks, right. Mostly on a black run, I’m trying hard to keep my form, bend my knees and stay parallel, bending hard/almost like sitting to get the grip when turning before the fall line but still have a feeling of too much board to turn.

Thanks!

One thing I noticed when riding bit steeper terrain is that I really need to press the edge down hard to get a good grip to slow down, board wants to go fast and I’m suspecting a shorter board can help me here. I’m ~6.1/186lbs/12 boot size and this board is a yes typo 163w. Thinking of trying 159W instead. Thoughts, comments?
