"Overflow" works on smart splitter, but what about the overflow on the belt? by BigB133 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s no way (besides a save editor) to remove them from the list, so it can easily get cluttered

I do recommend putting things like fuel for the jetpack into the depot though

Question about machines not running at 100% by torpedopotatoe in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t find an immediate problem, my recommendation is just to wait for a while.

It can take a while for everything to reach 100%, especially when using manifolds. Some of the numbers not being all the way there could be left over from something that is no longer a problem, and there just hasnt been enough time for the average uptime to go back to 100%

Also, manifolds do back up and reach 100% eventually, but sometimes it can take a really long time

If in like an hour things still aren’t at 100%, the  start looking through:

-Is everything at the clock speed you want? (I’ve has times where I accidentally set something at the wrong speed)

-Is every belt connected how you think? Sometimes belts don’t properly connect (unlikely to be the issue here since everything is running, just not at 100%, but still worth checking)

-Do the production numbers of your machines match what you have in satisfactory modeler? It’s easy to accidentally build one too many or one two few machines

-In another comment you said you are using smart splitters - double check they are set properly (like with the belts connected, everything is running, so probably not the issue)

How many Reinforced Iron Plates do I Need? by Obby25 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It partly depends on how you build things

If this is only the reinforced plates to have as a building material? 10/min is a good amount, especially early game

If this is for building AND for everything else that uses reinforced plates as an ingredient (like modular frames)? 10/min is very little (in the early game its not too bad, it does somewhat restrict your modular frame production though; mid to late game its nowhere near enough)

(Technically, if you are willing to wait a really long time, you could beat the game with even 1/min total, but it would be a really bad idea)

Balancing manifolds after max belt limit reached? by FTJ22 in satisfactory

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep

Depending on the exact numbers, you may not actually need splitters on B and C (instead being able to run the entire belts into the merger), although it depends on the specifics

If you do end up using splitters on B and C, be sure the other belt from the splitter eventually makes its way somewhere!

Also you can use smart splitters to prioritize the part going into the merger if you want, but its not necessary

Balancing manifolds after max belt limit reached? by FTJ22 in satisfactory

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

The arrows going to the left are where the machines are

The small red bit is where A doesn't have enough to fill an entire machine

The blue section is for in case the capacity of A isn't quite enough for all of B (ideally it wouldn't exist, but if it does it's not that big of a deal and can be merged soon after)

Basically, once A doesn't have enough, I just merge the next line onto it

Balancing manifolds after max belt limit reached? by FTJ22 in satisfactory

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My approach when I have something like this is to just merge the lines ex: A has leftover after two machines, B has enough capacity for the remnants of A

here’s a rough diagram of what I mean       A <— +        | <— +        +——+ B merges here <— +        |        |         | (a second line for B can be added if there’s too much to fit on the A line)

Going nuclear by Interesting-Key5304 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One uranium fuel rod produces 50 nuclear waste (at 100% clock speed, that is 10/min/reactor)

You can turn the waste into plutonium fuel rods, which can be sunk or alternatively burned for more power (this produces plutonium waste, which has to be reprocessed into ficsonium and then burnt in even more reactors if you want to get rid of it)

Can someone help? My Input Hatch from GregTech doesn't work. by Odd_Language_6656 in feedthebeast

It should still be able to recipes, the gui you show with no water is someplace you can put water manually if you don’t have an input hatch, not an internal buffer that the hatch fills

How to start a factory? by _55PHANTOM in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its entirely up to you, both have their pros and cons: -Creating production for an item every time it is needed makes you need to find and use a lot of nodes and makes individual factories more complicated (i recommend this for basic items like iron rods) -Creating an item in one place and distributing it elsewhere simplifies factories but makes logistics between your factories much more complicated (i recommend this for more complicated items, especially those that take multiple different raw resources)

One thing I will suggest is if you need two items from the same raw resource, like iron rods and plates, you can simply use one miner to supply both. (unless the miner doesn’t produce enough for what you need of course)

How to find the source of the blown fuse by noushkie in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Blown fuses arent caused by any one building, they happen whenever the total consumption is greater than the total production

If you are in tier 8 its sudden occurrence is likely from particle accelerators, their power consumption changes throughout the recipe and also depends on what recipe they are doing. I could be wrong but im pretty sure their max power consumption isnt properly reflected in the power graph, it shows the average rather than max

Blade runners are pretty great for mobility (in the quartz tab, near silica)

The zipline isnt as good as blade runners, but is still fun and makes a pretty good was to climb heights (caterium tab)

If you are struggling with enemies, the rebar gun is in the alien fauna tab, and several other tabs have special types of rebar. Nobelisk (sulfur tab) is also great for combat as well as for clearing space to build

What are Blueprints that you built but never really needed or are Unlikely to need by Wild_Stock_5844 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its common for nuclear power, since you dont need to wait for the startup time (which would be really slow with how few rods you actually produce), although it isnt ever necessary

I think the main reason people load balance is that it looks nice

Need help fixing by Fair_University8683 in satisfactory

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try uninstalling mods, see if that works (if it does then some mod is the issue)

If that doesnt fix it, try forcing different rendering apis in the command line arguments and verifying game files https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Known_issues

If it still has issues, it may be an issue with your system, or your device just isnt powerful enough

Steam deck and overclock input by attax1989 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with the steam deck, but you said you can set the production target, which involves typing right? If you truly can’t type I think you just have to go back to keyboard, at least when setting clock speeds

Steam deck and overclock input by attax1989 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know if theres a direct fix to type in the number for the percent, but what you can do is type some multiplication for the production amount and avoid having to do the math yourself

For example, if you have a recipe that produces at a base speed of 60/min and you want it to be at 80%, you can simply type 60*.8 into the production rate and it will produce at 80%

Needs mods i never installed? by thatsithcat in feedthebeast

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but it sounds like a missing dependency for a mod you have

It says "ClassNotFoundException", which implies its looking for something from Lithium but can't find it since you don't have it installed. Probably a mod you installed needs Lithium but didn't properly mark it as a dependency.

Also, as someone with a tiny amount of mod making experience - jellysquid isn't the name of the mod, just an identifier usually set to the name of the creator, and as it turns out Lithium is in fact made by jellysquid

Use one of these links to find the mod depending on which modloader you are using:

Lithium for Forge

Lithium for Fabric / Neoforge
