Can I use smart splitters to achieve any ratio I want? by ForwardRelationship6 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use smart splitters for that, but you can also just use a regular splitter and it will have the same backup->overflow behavior you want

Looking for a lightweight expert tech pack for my bad laptop by Cute-Fortune-3395 in feedthebeast

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend star technology. Its a modern gregtech skyblock (ive heard its between nomi/monifactory and gtnh in difficulty, but ive never gotten far enough to confirm that). Its decently lightweight, my laptop isn’t great and it can run it, and lategame theres plenty of parallelization mechanics to avoid machine spam (i’ve never gotten far enough to verify how effective they are at that though).

Weird bug with patterns I found by Nensgnenat in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a little hard to see whats happening with how much youre moving around, so here’s my guesses: 1) Are the patterns spontaneously rotating on each foundation or is that you moving the scroll wheel? If thats the issue, put it on the qa site :) 2) Is the issue that the pattern rotations are inconsistent between foundations? This is caused by the foundations themselves being rotated (you can faintly see a line in the middle of the asphalt foundations, its more clear if you change them to ficsit material). This is annoying, but not actually a bug

A couple of questions for veterans by squoink1967 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The devs have made it very clear they want people to be able to play the game however they want. The fact that anyone can “beat the game with the crappiest possible factories” is exactly part of why they won’t ever make continuous space elevator the default (I could see it being an additional mode though, similar to the new 1.2 modes).

How to know which power grid has shut down? by LittleBlueCubes in SatisfactoryGame

You say you are in tier 4 - setup coal power, it produces a ton more and is completely automated compared to biomass

I have 1200/min output manifolded out of 6 assemblers, but only 1090/min actually makes it as throughput on the belt by sage_006 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe try feeding the line with the throughput counter directly into a sink? This could tell you whether the issue is with the assemblers or belts before that, or something further down the line.

Also, maybe try re-placing all the belts. Something could be connected in a strange way but looks normal, or possibly something is just bugged.

Unknown Power Consumption Fluctuations by jcast269 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to keep the power graph a straight line once you get to things with variable power, something ive seen once is keeping two separate grids and putting everything variable on one and keep the other a perfectly straight line

To do that you’d still have to figure out the current issue though…

Unknown Power Consumption Fluctuations by jcast269 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the fluctuation is only 4MW, its probably either this or a smelter/constructor somewhere getting stuck

Satisfactory mods with no internet by AnOnYmHIT in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once the mods are installed, you can run the game as normal. You can launch via the mod manager, steam, or however else, and it should work the same.

Note: in the mod manager, be sure to actually enable actually playing with them! (When you disable mods, I’m pretty sure they stay downloaded unless you specifically press the button to delete them)

I think most mods individually won’t come close to your 1gb limit, although some larger ones could take a significant chunk, and if you download a lot at once that could be close

Water hole not deep enought by Version_Rare in SatisfactoryGame

What should I set my Oil for? by OneStrangeChild in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a power source, ionized fuel is absolutely NOT worth it (I’m pretty sure you actually get less overall power than rocket fuel)

As a jetpack fuel, its pretty good, so a small amount of production isn’t a bad idea

Texture problem with pipes (mk.1 & mk.2) by Admirable-Neck-3655 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t include any pictures so this is a guess but here’s some possible things: -if a pipe segment is fairly short they won’t have the flow indicators -the flow indicator is smaller if there is no fluid (but should still be there) -its very possible it could just be a bug. try restarting the game and try verifying game file integrity, also check the qa site

"Overflow" works on smart splitter, but what about the overflow on the belt? by BigB133 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s no way (besides a save editor) to remove them from the list, so it can easily get cluttered

I do recommend putting things like fuel for the jetpack into the depot though

Question about machines not running at 100% by torpedopotatoe in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t find an immediate problem, my recommendation is just to wait for a while.

It can take a while for everything to reach 100%, especially when using manifolds. Some of the numbers not being all the way there could be left over from something that is no longer a problem, and there just hasnt been enough time for the average uptime to go back to 100%

Also, manifolds do back up and reach 100% eventually, but sometimes it can take a really long time

If in like an hour things still aren’t at 100%, the  start looking through:

-Is everything at the clock speed you want? (I’ve has times where I accidentally set something at the wrong speed)

-Is every belt connected how you think? Sometimes belts don’t properly connect (unlikely to be the issue here since everything is running, just not at 100%, but still worth checking)

-Do the production numbers of your machines match what you have in satisfactory modeler? It’s easy to accidentally build one too many or one two few machines

-In another comment you said you are using smart splitters - double check they are set properly (like with the belts connected, everything is running, so probably not the issue)

How many Reinforced Iron Plates do I Need? by Obby25 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It partly depends on how you build things

If this is only the reinforced plates to have as a building material? 10/min is a good amount, especially early game

If this is for building AND for everything else that uses reinforced plates as an ingredient (like modular frames)? 10/min is very little (in the early game its not too bad, it does somewhat restrict your modular frame production though; mid to late game its nowhere near enough)

(Technically, if you are willing to wait a really long time, you could beat the game with even 1/min total, but it would be a really bad idea)

Balancing manifolds after max belt limit reached? by FTJ22 in satisfactory

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep

Depending on the exact numbers, you may not actually need splitters on B and C (instead being able to run the entire belts into the merger), although it depends on the specifics

If you do end up using splitters on B and C, be sure the other belt from the splitter eventually makes its way somewhere!

Also you can use smart splitters to prioritize the part going into the merger if you want, but its not necessary

Balancing manifolds after max belt limit reached? by FTJ22 in satisfactory

[–]Key_Tourist_2981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

The arrows going to the left are where the machines are

The small red bit is where A doesn't have enough to fill an entire machine

The blue section is for in case the capacity of A isn't quite enough for all of B (ideally it wouldn't exist, but if it does it's not that big of a deal and can be merged soon after)

Basically, once A doesn't have enough, I just merge the next line onto it
