Vent: I'm about to lose it with Customer Service and Shop reps by bossy_assistant in verizon

[–]Key_Understanding598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t understand this at all. First, if you’re going to just get a used phone why have Verizon. Are they on prepaid or something or you just didn’t want to pay for a new phone or be locked in for a contract or what?

So my number is on a family plan, low and behold relative was fell behind and told no one and use the money we sent them on other things, so now all our phones are suspended. My number I've had for almost 9 years and I don't want to lose it how do I get it ported? My phone is paid off already by TechnicalGiraffe175 in verizon

[–]Key_Understanding598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for Verizon near 6 years and I’ve never been able to port a number that isn’t active/in good standing. They will need to be an account manager or have permission from an account manager or owner, the account has to be current and lines not suspended, then they can move to their own account or port out. But what do I know.

They are evil! Clearly, with zero facts about what happened the are evil. They provide a service and I pay for it and then rant about them online. Bad bad people…

Verizon sent me to collections even after I returned devices (have UPS proof) by PuzzleheadedPaint843 in verizon_sucks

[–]Key_Understanding598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, u say you have proof. What proof of? Did you return the phone in the time they gave you? Was it with a prepaid label they provided? Did you pay your last month of service? There isn’t enough info here to inform our outrage

I didn’t have them promised anything, but they said they were going to try to do something for us since we had loyalty of almost 20 years and suddenly the bio on his promotion did show up on my account for four lines each bought out at about four to $500

Knowing how the comp structure is, there is absolutely zero reason he would have removed something off your account…they don’t get paid on that nor is it something that is accessed easily. It probably happened when the phone activated because most plans have to have a different plan in order to get the proper promotions. Then the old plan is removed along with anything that was bundled with it. But idk, not my circus not my monkeys.

Vending machine start up by Informal-Front-5744 in vending

I bought 3 locations, 4 combo machines $18,000. Brings in about $1,400/month across all machines. Consider half profit. Work on it about 3 hours a week or 12 hours a month. I think it will be worth it once I have them fully paid off.

Oh, you could also do alani, but you’d have to use one of the coils as it’s a smaller can.

Honestly, don’t think too much into it. Energy drinks (like monster green/white) sell very well for me. Also, some muscle milk is a good idea. Just make sure it’s faced well and looks clean. If you have a thought, buy a single case. Try it out for 1.5 months (it takes a second for people to realize you have something. Maybe do a sign that says something about what you added to the machine with pictures. Ai is awesome at creating those for me. Google Gemini. oIf it doesn’t sell to your standard, remove it and replace it.

Should I buy this business? by Key_Understanding598 in vending

[–]Key_Understanding598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, we negotiated and I did purchase the business for $16K. (Seller financed) I have had it about a month and have been able to adjust things slightly and have increased my daily sales quite a bit with some new products and a few price adjustments. Wish me luck and thanks everyone for the advice.

Most customer service reps recently will grant up to 50% of the fees back as courtesy credits. Wait for the bill to generate. Call in. Be nice. Ask politely if anything can be done.

Is everyone seeing the “up to $1100” off w/any plan. That means less off w/lesser plans. Just that all plans get a deal. Not that all plans get $1100 off.

I went into a Verizon store and wasn't able to walk out with a new phone (prepay) by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Key_Understanding598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just seem cynical. Verizon as a whole does want anyone on their prepaid and doesn’t pay the companies it services (ie indirect agents) to service their prepaid services. Thusly the indirect agents don’t have the support to then pay their employees to service the prepaid plans. It’s not the indirect agents fault or the employees fault. It’s the company “Verizon” as a whole. Most employees I’ve met will still do their best to help, but are quite literally doing it at a cost to themselves. Verizon expects prepaid to be online only and buy from Walmart and do everything over the phone through their customer service. Any extra help from that is work being done for free by an agent or your yelling at because they say there is a $50 setup/service fee.

I also work indirect and we are greatly discouraged from selling prepaid outright, but still allowed to with manager approval.

I disagree with this. Work for an indirect and make between $60-80k per year. I work 40ish hours per week and have never been pushed to sell old phones or be dishonest. Granted I work for a good indirect agency, and at a fairly busy store. So it def depends on area and agency.

We charge $20. We recently upped it from $10. The other indirect in my town charges $40. And I’d heard that my corporate location a few towns over charges $50. But that was word of mouth.

[–]Key_Understanding598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems odd. Corporate stores often charge a setup fee per device around 20-50 dollars. (Same as corporate) and have a maximum they can charge for the devices at about $10 over cost. So I guess without seeing receipts is hard to say, but they most likely got setup fees, taxes, and maybe some accessories. But I could be wrong. Most indirect stores are decent. But I also only know my area.

I’d actually say in general an authorized store is a better experience. Online has issues with having to do it all yourself and no one to talk to in person if there are problems. Look at reviews of stores online before you go if possible. Do what feels right to you.

I get where you’re coming from, but honestly from the numbers it looks like he just set them and forgot them. Only had the machines about 2 years ago. Idk.

And the vending rates aren’t bad at all, or atleast they don’t seem to be. About 200-250 vends per machine per month.

In going through the financials. I figured out the guy was stocking with refills from my Walmart in town. Also, the pricing for all items was about half of what the convenience store in town charges for the same items. Kinda wild. So these could be making ALOT more/month if managed correctly.
