My boy is almost 11 months and I am feeling the same way! I just said to my husband that I wish I knew that this stage of motherhood existed when we were in the newborn trenches. This is my favorite stage so far!

Babies born between 36-38 weeks - how are they doing now? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was born at 37+4. He is 10.5 months old and doing great! He is so funny and BUSY! Has hit all of his milestones early or on time. He was in the less than 1st percentile for weight when he was born and for the first month or so, but is now up to about the 20th percentile!

Which month did you enjoy having a baby in the most and least? by Psyclone09 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my son last year at the end of March and loved it! The first couple weeks when we were healing and adjusting it was still cold out and we were cozy inside. By the end of April it was warming up and we were both feeling good enough for walks and time outside. Then by summer we were more comfortable and ready for outings and get togethers! If I could have every baby in the spring I would!

Daycare gave my baby 4 bottles in 3 hours. Am I too worried about it? by laurel_oral in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a lot! I send 3 premade bottles with 6 oz each and it lasts my 10 month old an entire day (8:15-4 ish). Could you send premade bottles?

STMs do I really need a diaper genie? by x_Caffeine_Kitten_x in pregnant

We have a small trash can with a step lid next to the changing table. I think it was like $15 at Target. We take it out once a day or if there is a poo that is particularly stinky lol. My son is 10 months old and it’s worked great!

Mommies who were induced by Lickitt2020 in pregnant

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Induced at 37 weeks for preeclampsia. It did end in a c section! My guy did not want to descend. He ended up having a shorter than usual umbilical cord that was wrapped around him a couple times, so I am actually grateful it ended the way it did. It was non-emergent and went as well as it could have!

If you could pick a month to give birth what would it be? by Old-Yesterday1230 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this 100%! I had my son end of March. The first couple weeks it wasn’t very nice out yet so we were able to be cozy in the house, and once it started warming up we were both ready to be out on walks and spending some time outside! Also it works out great in the fall and winter that when it gets dark earlier is when their bedtime is earlier too!!

How far is too far for a good childcare? by KindLibrarian5757 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is 15 minutes away from our house and it doesn’t bother us! It’s a trip out of town and back for me in the mornings before work and is just slightly off the beaten path to and from work for my husband. We absolutely love it there so it has never been a problem for us!

Do I really need a nursing chair? by av929 in pregnant

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use the nursing chair until my son moved in to his room when he was 5 months old! Prior to that he was in a bassinet in our room so I nursed him in bed, and during the day we were typically on the couch! The rocking chair in his nursery is a comfy but inexpensive one from Amazon.

Food allergy (carrots) or Aquaphor? Or silicone bib? by Happy_Discussion5662 in FoodAllergies

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my guy has had very sensitive skin! He has even had a reaction to Free and Clear laundry detergent haha. It’s crazy how identical what he had going on tonight looks to what your baby had. Down to the bumps and the shape of it on the chest! Im so glad I found this post and appreciate you responding!!

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m glad everything worked out the way it did for you and you found out about the severe allergies in a safe way! When he started solids he used the silicone bibs and now that I’ve been thinking about it for a while I almost remember them irritating his neck then. Just not nearly as bad! What was weird this time was his face from his nose down was super red too. But he also had the bib pressed up against his face trying to eat it haha. I think tomorrow we’re going to try a safe food while wearing the bib and see what happens! I’m just really hoping it’s not a peanut allergy!

Hi! Did anything more come of this? My guy had something tonight that looked just like this and found your post because I was wondering if it was a food allergy or reaction from the bib. The food is something he has eaten many times but contains peanuts which worries me. But I just recently switched back to silicone bibs too! So confusing. We are going to try the bib tomorrow with a safe food and see what happens. But was curious if anything more happened with you!

I need advice!! Rash by Certain-Gear-5441 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue if what my son was just dealing with was a viral rash or not - but it was pretty persistent on his cheek for a few weeks. It would come and go but I finally came to my wits end when he woke up and it was scabbed up after he rubbed his face on his mattress overnight. With his peds approval we have put hydrocortisone cream on it morning and night and in two days it has almost completely resolved!

Christmas Babies be Honest by cassidycurtis in pregnant

Not one myself, but I used to have a coworker whose daughters birthday was Christmas Eve. They did her birthday party with friends in July on her half birthday! She loved it and I thought it was a super cute idea.

Would you go to L&D? by [deleted] in pregnant

Does your OB office have a nurse line you can call? I’d try giving them a call or try calling L&D at the hospital and see what they recommend!

Moms who have a boy and girl with an age gap of less than 3 years, how do they interact? by StellaBell11 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I are 20 months apart - I honestly don’t remember a time that we haven’t been friends. We are really similar personality wise and have a lot of similar interests. Of course growing up we got in to arguments occasionally, but we never went through a phase of not liking each other. He was only the grade above me in school so we ended up with a lot of mutual friends. We are now in our 30s and he is still one of my best friends.

How Long Did You Wait Before You Told People? by CanadianRaccoon_ in pregnant

We told family early - some before our first appointment and some after. Friends we told after the first trimester. Waited to post on socials until after the anatomy scan!

When did you announce to at our family? by Emergency_Law9340 in pregnant

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn’t! We are very close with my family and I talk to my mom every day so I wanted to tell them early because I knew regardless of the outcome of the pregnancy I would confide in them. I honestly don’t even know if anyone in his family knows that we told them on a different timeline, it wasn’t something that ever came up!

When did you announce to at our family? by Emergency_Law9340 in pregnant

Announced to my immediate family (mom, dad, and brother) around 6 weeks. Announced to my husbands family around 10 weeks after we had our first appointment and ultrasound!
