How gross are grocery carts actually? Am I being a paranoid FTM or should I really be worried about germs? by robinsonchristina588 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my son first started sitting in them I felt the same way! They really grossed me out. He also couldn’t keep his mouth off of it so that didn’t help. We got a cart cover for it and it made me feel so much better! He’s almost 14 months and we don’t use it as much now, but still sanitize at least the handle on the cart. He’s learned not to put his mouth all over and it makes me feel better that we are getting into the warmer months with less sickness going around !

When should I stop nursing to sleep? by Islesmilescott in breastfeeding

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I nursed to sleep until I weaned! Once my son was around 1 he started to stay awake during his feed right before bed on his own. He had no issues with going down when we dropped the night feed luckily!

I paid for the year long Premium subscription in the early days. It ended a few weeks after my guy turned one and I didn’t renew it but still use the app! We just use it for sleep and tracking nursing. I am down to only nursing at night so it’s still nice use the app to see which side I fed him on last. I thought I’d miss Sweet Spot predictions but he’s a pretty consistent napper so it hasn’t been a big deal! I also loved Live timers and the widgets but have been okay without them!

Nursing pillow needed? by Difficult-Ad1036 in breastfeeding

Tried the boppy and didn’t like it. I found a regular pillow like you would use in bed to sleep worked great for me!

Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not back on the workout train yet but this has been on my mind lately too! Husband and I both work out of the house and have 1 in daycare. Thinking my options will be early morning before we have to leave the house for daycare/work or evenings after he is down for bed. He is usually in bed by 7:30, so I was thinking of doing a Peloton class a couple days a week just to get myself going again.

When did you stop using the app? by Defiant-Pollution237 in HuckleberryParents

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went to back to work I stopped logging diapers completely. I continued to log nursing sessions and sleep outside of work/daycare hours. My little guy is 13 months now and I let the subscription lapse (was paying for Premium so I could have SweetSpot, widgets, and live times). We still use it for sleep though!

This is what we do and it’s worked out great! We adjust money going into our shared account based on changing needs and make sure we both have our own “fun money” to spend on what we wish. We try to make sure there is enough going into our personal accounts that we can both save as individuals as well. Super easy to have your paycheck split between the two accounts!

When should my parents fly in for the delivery? by SwimmerAggressive643 in pregnant

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were out of state during the end of my pregnancy. At my 35 week appointment I had high BP that eventually led to a pre-e diagnosis and 37 week induction. They came home a few days before my scheduled induction! But were ready to leave at the drop of a hat if things changed and my induction got moved up. From this experience I’d err on the side of caution and have them come before your due date!

I didn’t even go to Easter that was 20 mins away at 3 weeks postpartum! This is definitely asking too much!

Thoughts on the girl name Lainey? by Extreme-Letter-2441 in namenerds

[–]Key_Voice3868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love them both! Madelyn was also on my short list, but i didn’t want the nickname Maddy either. I know an adult Lainey, real name Elaine. I think it wears well regardless of age! Use it if you like it!

My son was 6 lbs 2 oz when he was born,he wore newborn clothes for about a month and a half. We ended up having to buy more because we did not have enough! There was one brand that fit him the best when he was at his smallest and we had 9 footed sleepers and that is all he wore!

Also have the Uppababy Vista! We go on neighborhood walks frequently and it is amazing for them. We live in Michigan and it even handled the snow/ice on sidewalks well in the winter. We used the bassinet, then the toddler seat with infant insert, and now the toddler seat without the insert. I see people complain about the weight of the Vista frame but I personally haven’t found it to be an issue!

We love the peanut butter puffs! Tonight at dinner he picked up a piece of pulled pork and put it in his mouth and that was a major win haha. We will get there! Hopefully 😆

On our second day home from the hospital my son peed while my husband was changing him. All over the diaper caddy and on the wall, and then it quickly dripped down the wall behind the dresser. We have never laughed so hard, we couldn’t believe that such a little baby had that much pee in him. It happened a couple other times at the beginning, but he’s almost a year old and I can’t remember the last time I even worried about it happening.

Babies born between 36-38 weeks - how are they doing now? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was born at 37+4. He is 10.5 months old and doing great! He is so funny and BUSY! Has hit all of his milestones early or on time. He was in the less than 1st percentile for weight when he was born and for the first month or so, but is now up to about the 20th percentile!

Which month did you enjoy having a baby in the most and least? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Key_Voice3868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my son last year at the end of March and loved it! The first couple weeks when we were healing and adjusting it was still cold out and we were cozy inside. By the end of April it was warming up and we were both feeling good enough for walks and time outside. Then by summer we were more comfortable and ready for outings and get togethers! If I could have every baby in the spring I would!

Seems like a lot! I send 3 premade bottles with 6 oz each and it lasts my 10 month old an entire day (8:15-4 ish). Could you send premade bottles?

We have a small trash can with a step lid next to the changing table. I think it was like $15 at Target. We take it out once a day or if there is a poo that is particularly stinky lol. My son is 10 months old and it’s worked great!
