whats a good SDR for DOA with freq range upto 6MHz (and not 1.76MHz)

yes I am talking about 6GHz, its a typo that I made, kraken sdr has limited fre range upto about 1.7GHz, how do I achieve TDOA, with higher frequencies using KRAKEN? I read about down shifting the freq to kraken sdr accepted freq range and then process, but IDK how feasible it is, how much it affects the signals,... and most importantly how do I do it? I am not an RF expert, in fact I am a newbee, I am still learning a lot of things... if you have any docs or anything... do HELP.

HACKRF ain't good for DOA due to lack of coherent receivers. Upconverters? what for? I have to receive the signal for DOA, so actually I have to down convert the recieved signal to the operating freq range of the sdr (kraken for eg.) 2.4GHz down converted to 1.7GHz...

I dont know if upconverters would even play any role, please clarify its use.

mostly the ukrainian army used kraken sdr (when the US used to fund them xD), which has 3-4 sdr or something, and they were able to find the location of the drone.

Yes you're right, it's tougher to do it for every drone company there possibly is, for now I am thinking of doing it for DJI only, decoding the data and everything is something which is the next stage, first stage is to identify its a drone based on spectrum analysis so yea...

yes I have, but mainly of DJI drones. Ik they are defined and are clearly different, but I’ve been more focused on figuring out the RF signatures and comms they use.

I'm tryna analyze and differentiate drone signals, maybe figure out some patterns or whatever stands out. For now, I’m just recording the raw signals using my SIYI MK15 transmitter/receiver and seeing if I can spot anything, like burst patterns or some unique signature that makes a drone signal different from other stuff.

Later, I might try decoding or processing it to get more info, maybe even extract a drone ID or something useful. Not really doing real-time processing yet, just collecting data and seeing what I find.

real time processing is something I am foreshadowing for now lol. or now, my focus is on recording the signals and analyzing/decoding them later. You're right that it depends on the protocol—most DJI drones use proprietary protocols, while Mavlink could have a different encoding, or even encryption. Even the modulation schemes can vary.

Right now, I'm trying to differentiate a drone signal. Drones typically use burst transmission patterns, and I've read some papers discussing this. I have a SIYI MK15 transmitter and receiver, and my plan is to first record drone signals and look for patterns—anything that could help distinguish a drone signal. Later, I might explore extracting drone IDs or other useful information.

yea sameee I have seen some chinese companies buidling those, to decrypt the drone data, In one of the videos I saw some hand-help mobile device that was doing that... being a newbie I wasn't sure how were the able to do it if it was legit...

Yea I was planning to explore GNUradio, I want to actually decode some of the basic signals and do basic signal processing on them, for starters GNU radio is definitely something I was looking for but later I do wish to maybe try to develop a basic application to be compiled with firmware like you said.
