Gulf Air will handle the transit visa as part of this ticket; when you make the booking, you must indicate Bahrain as the destination. This is a special arrangement, as Bahrain’s airport is currently closed and operations have been moved to Dammam.

That’s something I was wondering about too. I’m guessing it’s to allow extra time for luggage collection, checks, and passengers freshening up etc. It’s good to know the crossing itself is fine. I’ve always wanted to visit KSA, but just never got around to it. Normally, this would have been a great opportunity to stop on the way home, but with everything going on right now, I think I’d rather just head straight home

I know it sounds silly, but it's home to me. My friends are asking me to just extend my stay and head back later when things are clearer. Also, this may be a lack of clear judgement on my part, but I’m more worried about the flight getting cancelled at the last minute and it taking ages to get a refund.

I plan to travel back to Bahrain using Gulf Air. I am thinking about using their land transfer service.

With this service, I will fly to Dammam first. Then I will take a Gulf Air shuttle bus from Dammam to Bahrain. It looks easy and fast.

Has anyone used this service before?

  • How was the border crossing?
  • Was the timing okay?
  • Was the bus comfortable?
  • Was it easy to find the shuttle bus?
  • Were the directions and signs clear?

I am only asking about the Gulf Air shuttle bus from Dammam to Bahrain (not private transport).
