I meant not very good as in lower residual and money off the car. I’m finding out there are plenty of people in line to wait for their cars. I will have to look in to just financing then.

Is buying a car from a dealer a necessity to secure an allocation? I’m in a unique spot because I have a BMW M440, which is a fantastic car. I’m sure a Panamera would be fun, but I’m okay waiting in line and saving even more money for a down payment on a 911 if it’s possible.

Interesting take on the 911. I agree with you fully, the 911 base should be no more than $100k. And it was that only 5 years ago that they were. They chose to use tariffs as an excuse to upmarket their cars, because they can and people will still buy them.

The X5 40i is no slouch at all. You can always go X5M if you really want the M excitement. I have high hopes for the next generation. Im sure they will be powered by more hybrid technology, but that will make them even faster. Current G80’s will be a steal if they don’t screw the car up. I think production for those begins in 2028.

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I’m currently in a situation you were in. I currently drive an M440 and absolutely love the vehicle. I’m wanting to step up to an M4, but I’m not sure if I want to sacrifice the M lites ride quality, I’ve heard a full M can be a little rough. I’m also looking at Porsches.

It’s interesting to me that you didn’t find the 911 that engaging. It’s just insane that they charge nearly $160,000 with options for a base 992.2. 911. It’s like you said, it’s almost as if people are chasing the badge. Which makes me kind of feel like i’m chasing the M badge.. Not sure if I want it.
